rush limbaugh’s in hell now where he belongs 💖 here are some of his greatest hits, beyond him just being a far-right trump-loving conservative, so everybody will know why we’re all celebrating his death:

  • he constantly made fun of gay men for dying throughout the entire AIDS crisis. it was literally his main running joke. he regularly gave joyful “AIDS updates” while playing a happy love song in the background, and would read off the names of dead gay people while playing whistles and air horns
  • he was literally the person who popularized the word “feminazi”
  • article: Rush Limbaugh Says “Rape Police” Left Cares Too Much About Consent + him constantly saying consent isn’t a thing and his whole “no means yes” speech
  • article: Rush Limbaugh Says the Obamas Need to Get Over Slavery Already
  • he called BLM a “hate group” and “terrorists”
  • he compared gay men to pedophiles and said the lgbt movement was also trying to “normalize pedophilia”
  • he said there are too many black men in sports and that “the NFL all too often looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips without any weapons”
  • he said champion quarterback donovan mcnabb is “overrated because he’s black”
  • he made fun of michael j fox for having parkinson’s
  • he called chelsea clinton a “dog” when she was 12 years old

and all these are just the tip of the iceberg. he was a popular radio host for decades and fed millions of people racism, misogyny, homophobia, etc, and i bet an argument could be made about him being one of the main voices who radicalized the american far-right

so…….. i think we should give him the exact same respect he gave all the gay people who died in the AIDS crisis

i read through some of the tags on this post and saw dozens of people being like “my parents used to listen to him constantly when i was little, and i realized as i grew up how evil he is and how he was poisoning my parents’ minds” and it just made me wonder how many people grew up listening to this garbage and never had that moment of realization? of the ~15 million listeners who tuned in every broadcast since the 1970s, how many had kids listening too? how many millions of people were radicalized by this man’s hatred before they even hit puberty?

britney spears has lost the court case, again, to end her father's conservatorship over her, and it makes me so fucking SAD that no one is in her corner, apart from like... britney stans that the rest of public opinion and internet treats as a joke. hashtag free britney itself started as a joke. meanwhile, she's now saying that she will not perform any more as long as her father has control over her, and still, no one seems to be in her corner. she has been infantilized since the beginning of her career, and her mental breakdown added that extra ~insanity~ layer to it all, thus turning her into someone who is treated condescendingly, with pity, with sarcasm, like a lobotomized version of her former self performing for others to make fun of her. but she is not given empathy. where is the fucking compassion?? not even out of nostalgia for a pop icon formative for an entire generation, in the full meaning of the word? who is having britney's back?? she deserves so much more.

more people (especially women) need to have zero tolerance policies in relationships (especially with men). you had to say no to sex more than once before he stopped? dump him. he called you a bitch? dump him. he ignored you when you were sick? dump him.

obviously this happens with other gender combinations too but so many men are like this, and so many women think it’s their job to improve these men. but you can’t train people into respecting you as a human being! you’re never gonna find the ones that actually respect you if you stick around trying to fix the ones who don’t.

like on one hand the fact that everyone and their mother claims to have been a “”gifted kid”” probably means that SOMEONE is lying but on the other hand it demonstrates how the label means virtually nothing and achieves nothing but giving people inferiority or superiority complexes that last a lifetime

#i used to be so annoyed by the 'former gifted kid' shit#then i found out american schools apparently have some kind of program that is literally called gifted or something#so that made more sense#but still#i promise you were not unusually smart for your age
