hey would you like to hear about this kids' tv show we have in the uk called the numberblocks? it was designed to help kids learn maths and from that perspective it's great and it's really cute. the premise of it is that all the numbers are made of blocks so one is made of one block two is made of two etc etc... and they all go on little adventures together but it's philosophically terrifying to me. because all the numbers can join up to make other numbers, you see, and then these numbers have a seperate consciousness from the numbers that made them up... and multiple versions of a number can exist in the same place... and i don't understand how it works!! what happens to the consciousness of the smaller numbers when they turn into the bigger numbers!! do all the versions of the same number see each other as the same individuals? do they have a sense of self? are they part of a collective hive mind of numbers? there was an episode where they're all playing hide-and-seek and five keeps splitting up into two and three to avoid capture and it upset me so much i nearly cried and i KNOW i'm overthinking it but you did ask for rants and i am nothing if not good at having very strong opinions about very random things

BUT ME TOO SO WAIT I DON'T UNDERSTAND if 1 and 2 form 3 does that mean that 3 now has 3's thoughts and not 1's and 2's???? does that also mean that we have two new 1 and 2 popping up in the world????? BUT IF SO then 5 splitting up in 2 and 3 should have 2 and 3 minds right????? so so so is there a new 5 popping up??? or??? and does it have the memory of old 5??? or is that like an exception that doesn't make sense???
