@swagger68

please help briana johnson! she is a 74 year old black trans lady from my local area who got fired from her last job within an hour of starting work, and when she filed employment discrimination complaints with the eeoc they told her that her case wasn’t worth them looking into. in the meantime she has had trouble finding work but still is trying to raise the money needed for surgery/hair removal/related things.

similar posts have been made about her situation in the past, but after over a year and a half since starting her fundraiser, she is still only at 1/6th of her goal and donations have slowed down exponentially.

briana is now 75 years old and she has been fundraising for two years now and is still only at 1/6 of her goal. please please signal boost and if you can please donate

44 months of fundraising as of Aug 2018, not even halfway there, but she is still hopeful!

hey, i’ve been posting about briana’s fundraiser since i was 15 and she was 72, i am now 19 and she is 76. so much has happened since the 4 years ago we met in the same trans support group, and while i no longer live in her area, i think of her everyday and seeing that she has not been able to fully fund her campaign after 3 years and 9 months is extremely upsetting to me.

looking at her recent updates, briana seems discouraged too, saying that she will likely end her campaign once new years and 2019 arrive.

i still think it is possible for her to reach her goal though! thanks to a very generous recent donation, she has finally reached the half way mark on her campaign. please keep sharing wherever you can and continue donating!

briana says she will end her fundraiser by january 2nd 2019, which is less than a week away.

she deserves so much, what she has been through is not fair and it is heartbreaking to me to see that after years of posting almost daily about this fundraiser, she still has only just reached the halfway mark.

please, please donate what you can this week and spread word as much as possible. even if she won’t keep up this fundraiser from now on, she deserves to start out the new year with new donations

trans kids following me: you have a future. you have a happy adulthood coming. you will have the body you want. you will have peers that respect you. you will feel blessed when you look in the mirror, and you will be so so grateful that you made it here.

Hey, guys. Minor emergency. Please share this around or even donate if you’re in the place to do that. But, I’ve been hospitalized recently for gallbladder and liver problems. I needed a cholecystectomy as soon as I possibly could. But, I will miss a full pay period at work and then some. Not to mention the hospital bills have now reached roughly 4,000 dollars that I can’t cover. My health insurance isn’t the best to say the least. But, I still have doctors appointments to get to this week and also next week! (primary care physician, therapist, psychiatrist, and my physical therapist.) I still need gas to go to all the appointments, which are in the county diagonal from me. And as always I’m hit with a massive bill for prescriptions because of everything I’m on due to birth defects/abnormalities I couldn’t do anything about.

And lastly the food would be going to me and my younger brother. There is hardly any food coming into the house right now and I’m worried for him and myself.

And if you can donate in any other way please message me and I’ll see if I can accommodate for the people who don’t use PayPal.

In advance, I’m so very grateful for the community and its ability to come together for each other. Thanking each and every one of you for having the heart to have concern over strangers. Thank you so much for everything.

I still haven’t gotten anywhere yet, but thank you to all of you who have been sharing!

Ugh y’all i’m sorry, but this is the one thing I won’t not reblog

hey trans friends

if you need binders/breast forms/makeup/etc but don’t want your parents to know, now is the best time to get it.

you can order whatever it is online and when the package comes in if the ask what it is you can say something like “it’s a secret!” or even just sssh them. they’ll assume it’s a present for whatever holiday you celebrate and probably won’t press the issue.

oh my god this is amazing

I normally don’t reblog stuff like this but this is a very important life hack!

make sure you actually buy a present though or else this is all going to fall apart. it doesn’t have to be expensive, e.g. a “best dad” mug, socks, a bath bomb, multi-tool variations of everyday objects, soap, tea, a candle, et cetera.

“We, the undersigned businesses, stand with the millions of people in America who identify as transgender, gender non-binary, or intersex, and call for all such people to be treated with the respect and dignity everyone deserves.

We oppose any administrative and legislative efforts to erase transgender protections through reinterpretation of existing laws and regulations. We also fundamentally oppose any policy or regulation that violates the privacy rights of those that identify as transgender, gender non-binary, or intersex.

In the last two decades, dozens of federal courts have affirmed the rights and identities of transgender people. Cognizant of growing medical and scientific consensus, courts have recognized that policies that force people into a binary gender definition determined by birth anatomy fail to reflect the complex realities of gender identity and human biology.

Recognizing that diversity and inclusion are good for business, and that discrimination imposes enormous productivity costs (and exerts undue burdens), hundreds of companies, including the undersigned, have continued to expand inclusion for transgender people across corporate America. Currently more than 80 percent of the Fortune 500 have clear gender identity protections; two-thirds have transgender-inclusive healthcare coverage; hundreds have LGBTQ+ and Allies business resource groups and internal training efforts.

Transgender people are our beloved family members and friends, and our valued team members. What harms transgender people harms our companies.

We call for respect and transparency in policy-making, and for equality under the law for transgender people.”
