Laios, devourer of all things horrible.
This is Rafah, The "safe" zone, where 1.5 million Palestinian fled to. You have to understand, what bombing Rafah means.
Please don't look away, while everybody is busy watching the super bowl, Israel commits one of its most deadly and openly genocidal attacks on Rafah. Please don't look away.
oil pulling or gandusha is an ancient ayurvedic practice. "gandusha" roughly translates to "holding the oil/liquid in your mouth".
you should do this in the morning, before eating breakfast. you can do it after or before you brush your teeth. i prefer to do it before i brush my teeth because i don't want to leave any oil residue in my mouth.
basically, what you do is you take around a tablespoon of oil and hold it in your mouth, or gently move it from side to side, for about 10 minutes. there's no need to do this for a very long time!
when you're done, spit it out in the trashcan. make sure it doesn't come out yellow. if so, you might need to oil pull for a bit longer.
♡ prevents gum disease
♡ prevents cavities
♡ helps with tooth aches and sensitive teeth
♡ heals bleeding gums
♡ prevents bad breath by removing local toxins and prevents the growth of harmful fungi and bacteria
♡ pulls toxins and removes excess mucous from the mouth, throat and head
♡ improves taste and digestive metabolism
♡ helps keep sinuses clear and healthy
♡ reduces headaches
what i learned from my tutors when i was studying ayurveda, is that you don't need to do gandusha every single day.
i understand a lot of people struggle with consistency, because aggressively swishing oil in your mouth for 15 to 20 minutes every single morning is annoying.
if you do it twice a week, it's good enough, and there's no need to swish the liquid around. like i mentioned before, you can simply hold it in your mouth or gently move it from side to side.
if oil makes you gag, specially on an empty stomach, you can use warm water and sea salt instead.
♡ coconut oil
♡ sesame oil
♡ sunflower oil
these are the most common. make sure they're organic, cold pressed and good quality!
while we sleep, toxins are accumulating in our mouth and specially on our tongue. to prevent those toxins from going back into your body, you should do your dental hygiene as soon as you wake up, before eating breakfast. make sure you clean your tongue properly. you can use a tongue scraper for this.
íf you're interested in learning more about ayurveda and what type of concoction you should use for gandusha, i advise you to learn what your dosha or ayuvedic mind/body type is.
you can schedule an appointment with an ayurvedic practitioner, but if you don't want to commit to an appointment, reading geeta vara's guide to ayurveda will help you learn more about the doshas and you will get an idea of what your dosha might be.
