Trip to Finland going well

Shut up and take my plane ticket

In all seriousness it's a great place, can definitely recommend (especially if you love bikes and public transport)

Every time I hear something about Finland it's always something awesome. You can legally forage over there and that is mind blowing. There's forests right there in the city. How does that even happen?? The people are introverted AND happy?? You don't have to dry your dishes before putting them away?? What's next??

It's easier to travel by public transport, bike, electric scooter or on foot than it is by car. Helsinki has a lot of places where cars can't go and the whole road is only for pedestrians, and that's where most storefronts are. Cars are like an afterthought in the design, same way pedestrians are in other places.

Like physically can't or aren't allowed?

There would be space for a car, but there are blockades in place and they are specifically pedestrian-only streets

Never seen anything like that over here

You can't legally forage in America? What kind of Orwellian nightmare world is that Holy shit

I assume it's because it's seen as theft or it's to avoid liability lawsuit whatevers or because it's dangerous due to our plants generally being full of pollution
