And for a fortnight there, we were together.
Taylor Swift and Austin Post in the "Fortnight" music video (4/19/24).
The Tortured Poets Department is slowly creeping up in my top 3 fave Taylor Swift albums.. she really just surpassed my expectations with this album and it keeps getting better with each listen.
if i had a top 5, it'd be:
- Guilty as Sin?
- But Daddy I Love Him
- Down Bad
- Florida!!!
- I Can Do It With A Broken Heart
but I love many more tracks. like Fortnight has also been on repeat for me cause of its majestic outro or final chorus. I also really love The Alchemy.. honestly, it was hard to pick a top 5!! so many great tracks.
and from the second half of the anthology, some faves are:
- The Prophecy
- So High School
- Cassandra
- The Bolter
anyway, like objectively, it might not be a groundbreaking sound cause she works with Jack again and I feel like they've really pushed themselves to a creative peak or even plateau. Aaron Dessner working on second half gives evermore vibes, which is nice.
Personally, I prefer the first half over the second half. But TTPD still showcases Taylor's eloquence and songwriting prowess.. she continuously proves she is here to stay
