A blog that will be full of photos of my beardie, Pringle. He's a Bearded Dragon living in Melbourne, Australia. Contact: shayes205@gmail.com

Hello :D. I was wondering how did you get this relationship with your beardie . he feels so confident , he runs around , you keep him out of his tank , how did you do that ? does he poop out of the tank ? I have a beardie but when he is out of his territory he doesn't really know where to go . i'd like to be closer to hIm :) .

Just handle him a lot, spend a lot of time with him. When I let Pringle roam around the apartment I usually wait until he has already pooped so I know he’s not going to mess up the carpet or something, it usually works.... usually. Maybe you could try feeding your Beardie a few treats when he’s out of his tank, so he gets used to moving around the house. It’s good for them to get out and explore and not just be in the tank all the time.

Pringle in his ghostbusters outfit is so cute! My favorite movie and one of my favorite animals! So cute!! I've seen pictures of your guys before and now I got your blog and I'm very excited to see more!!

Thanks! As you can probably tell I’m a big Ghostbusters fan as well, I’m glad you like the photos.

was wondering if you can give some advice... about a week ago, i got a juvenile beardie and set him up in his tank and my plan was to leave him be for a week before i start trying to tame him. unfortunately, my mom just told me that shes been petting him and even held him since day one. he doesnt seem at all frightened by being touched but should i discontinue their interaction for a little while anyway? im just looking for your opinion! thank you a bunch!!

No, I’ve never actually heard of someone not touching them for a week. Your Mum is doing the right thing, interact from day one so they are used to human contact from an early stage. Especially if he doesn’t seem frightened by being handled, that’s great! Keep up the handling, the more the better.
