“This is not your first rodeo. You know the drill—expect too much, let them in, watch as your wounds rebuild themselves from the ground up, flowers blooming where there were once scabs. Time and time again, it is the same process, but some things change. These days, you heal faster than you hurt. It takes more for them to pierce through strength that only grows with every injury. You cannot recall when you evolved from victim to fighter.”
My hair. It was always what people complimented about me. I hid behind its length for years, scared of the shape of my face and not being able to cover more of my body with it. Scared that “beautiful” means having it long and tumbling. I didn’t realize I had been allowing my insecurities to keep me from doing something that-at the end of the day-I wanted to do. So I cut it off. I shed the layers and the lies. And I welcomed in this side of myself.
Large felt flower hair pins: 8$ a piece or 2 for 12$ dm me if interested!
