Cannot stress enough that this is NOT a condemnation, this is genuine delight that young girls in my town have stopped dressing up like Kardashians and are finally just goofing around on summer break in comfortable shoes and funky graphic shirts.

15 year olds should not be worries about having a thigh gap, they should be trying on SpongeBob bucket hats at the pier and drinking twice their weight in corn syrup like hummingbirds

Fantasy story where the all-powerful demon queen is instantly in love with the hero who defeats her (the hero is a 6'5 orc woman with huge muscles who looks amazing in armor)

Other adventurers show up and assume the orc woman is the demon queen but she's like "oh let me get my girlfriend" and in walks a shorter girl with horns and a cape decorated with skulls who starts throwing fireballs

Rumours say that the boss fight against the demon queen is actually harder now because she wants to look cool in front of her wife

The demon queen has never been so motivated

The problem with games that try to adapt the DND experience is that they never have a dialogue option that lets me call the closest paladin a sniveling daddy's boy in a tin can

I want to arrive in Ye Olde Fantasy Town and immediately get the option to tell the first cop I see to suck his own ass

It also doesn’t let you immediately hit on the biggest orc woman in the room. Inaccurate.

"The trannies should be able to piss in whatever toilet they want and change their bodies however they want. Why is it my business if some chick has a dick or a guy has a pie? I'm not a trannie or a fag so I don't care, just give 'em the medicine they need."

"This is an LGBT safe space. Of COURSE I fully support individuals who identify as transgender and their right to self-determination! I just think that transitioning is a very serious choice and should be heavily regulated. And there could be a lot of harm in exposing cis children to such topics, so we should be really careful about when it is appropriate to mention trans issues or have too much trans visibility."

One of the above statements is Problematic and the other is slightly annoying. If we disagree on which is which then working together for a better future is going to get really fucking difficult.

I think this is something young people in particular are confused about. My dad has always had a slightly off color sense of humor, he always feels the need to privately ask me “boy turned girl or girl turned boy?” if I mention a friend and stress said friend’s pronouns, and yet when we had repair work done in the house and the worker was listening to a podcast discussing the evils of transgender people and how to cleanse society, he went out of his way to contact the owner of the business to discuss his disappointment with that worker’s conduct and stress the negative effect that could have had if there had been trans kids in our home.

Our allies will never be perfect. They will never use the perfect language or have the perfect politics. But we have to appreciate those allies and meet them where they are, especially if they are willing to learn.

'based on a true story' was the funniest horror marketing trope for a while we need to bring it back. big fan of a lack of need to specify how much and what parts. i love when words mean anything

"Brock’s nightmare did not end there. At the police station, he was forced to show a jailer his genitals after explaining that he’s trans. And despite the fact that he met their criteria and has a penis, they placed him in a women’s holding cell."

What I like is how it is so nakedly obviously why the cop tracked him (Not stopped him, his lights were not on and he gave no lawful orders) Brock flipped the cop the bird when he saw him harassing a woman. This, naturally, isn't in the report because that's not a legal reason to arrest someone.

a tldr of this situation is that a trans man flipped off a cop as he was driving by, which is an action protected under the first amendment, the cop stalked him, pulled him over, beat him until he had a concussion, then lied about it after the fact despite the fact there was video evidence. the trans man was then charged with three bogus felonies, sexually harassed by at least one other officer, and then put in a women’s holding cell. he has lost his job and will likely have extreme difficulty finding another and the officer — who, again, lied about an event that was caught on camera — has not faced any consequences. this man’s life has, as the article states, been ruined by the heinous, though unsurprising, actions of this cop.

fuck cops. abolish the police. and stop erasing the state sanctioned violence being perpetrated against trans masculine people. this is the third story of police violence against a trans man i’ve read about this year, and it’s only been from other trans men talking about it.
