the EARTH is definitely DOOMED...
Lucifer furrowed her brows and tilted her head to the side. While, yes, she could believe that in theory, it also did sound a little CRAZY. The US government and the army combined did a lot of things their civilians didn’t know about at all. Still, what was the point? To see if it were possible to neutralise a vampire? Or if it would end up dying? Wasn’t that a lot of trouble for something you could resolve with a toothpick?
“Who on earth did you piss off?” she finally asked. She knew Spike to be quite the troublemaker, sometimes without much sense, but regardless. She then looked thoughtful, and asked with fascination, “Does this mean you can’t punch me or anything?”

[] —— Spike huffed in amusement at that, then finished off the blood in the jar. Who had he pissed off? That was a long and drawn out list, he was sure. Sometimes he pissed people off without even meaning to. Spike did what he wanted based on his heart, more than his brain. That almost always landed him in hot water.

“It was a secret government operation. All I had to do was be a vampire, and I was a bloody candidate,” he grumbled, then looked at her. He shrugged a shoulder at her next question. “I thought I couldn’t attack anythin’ at first. Turns out, they’re only keen on protectin’ the human population. I can hurt other demons.”

[]  —— Buffy furrowed her brow, wondering what that life would be like. Moving around, not having anything as a constant. Buffy was so thoroughly rooted in her friends and family that not having them seemed... strange. Perhaps if that was her normal, she’d think differently. She didn’t show any of her thoughts on her face, not wanting to offend him with her sympathy. He most likely didn’t want or need her sympathy.

If he was only going to be here for a couple days, then she figured a date night was off the table. Which sucked. She did frown at that, though briefly. “Well, there goes my plan to get to know you a bit better,” she said, only half joking. A small laugh, breathy laugh escaped her, before she continued. “What do you do for work?”
