Fuck Ron DeSantis, obviously, and he has done PLENTY of other super obviously fascist things, but he didn’t introduce this bill. It was a different asshole Florida Republican (State Senator Blaise Ingoglia). In my opinion based on his consistent shitty behavior, DeSantis will almost certainly sign it if it gets to his desk, but as far as I can tell he hasn’t gotten involved in this specific piece of legislation yet.
We’re dealing with a deeper sort of rot in Florida than just one horrible man in the governor’s office, there are lots of pieces of shit all throughout our state government and many of our local governments. Vote in local elections, a terrible man like DeSantis wouldn’t be able to do as much damage without the support of his cronies infesting the state and local governments.
