Yo ! Name is Raven --- Love to draw and still learning (practicepracticepractice) --- Currently (in oblivion) obsessed with LU and QSMP --- Will definitely draw my own manga one day -Please don't repost my art- Have a good day/night !

Finally, some ART !! Woah, it's been quite a long time !

SO. Here are three drawings I made back in april (time goes by too fast help). I experimented with different ways of coloring and doing lineart (mostly stop using only black ink and trying to color it as well, and finding my own style : making it very bold on the edges and thin elsewhere).

The first one is in a kind of cartoonesque style, with bold shadings, the second was a mix of multiple technique (full experiment), the highlights are quite good on this one, love em ! And for the third one, I used my favourite brush, the watercolor one, which gives a lot of texture, but was a little bit too much on this one ! (The lights effects overlaps too much on the flat colors in my opinion)

Since january, I started a new art journey : learning how to draw (for real) with methods and tutorials. I practiced more in those 8 last month than in the last five years ! Especially with the thing I hated the most : anatomy....... there are a lot of tutos on youtube and cool artist who give excellent tips on different social medias ! Before building enough confidence to start doing it alone, I followed a bunch of tutorials and learned from other artists, the poses here are references from @/mellon_soup on ig (go check her patreon, amazing artist !!). And I can now draw anatomically correct poses by myself (got a lot of other drawings to come !)

Finally found some methods that work well with my stubborn brain (how to visualize shapes in 3D, how movements works, how human bones and muscles moves, etc.), and while at it, of course I drew the LU bois !

"Hyrule stared at him, breath hitching. Legend was a merman. The tunnel was filling with water. He couldn’t swim. He was going to drown. Legend was going to leave him here.

Don’t go. He’d never have uttered the words out loud, but Legend seemed to read the unspoken plea in his eyes.

“I’ll come back for you. I won’t be long. Just… just stay here, okay?”

Hyrule didn’t bother pointing out that he didn’t exactly have anywhere else to go. “Be careful,” he whispered. "

Comfort Zones by @enjolras-out

If you haven't read it yet, go right now !! An amazing fic with the downfall duo, what could go wrong ?

Well. Read and find out !

Their dynamic is so in-character and well done !!

Everything about this fic is good ! The descriptions are awesome and you can feel all their emotions, the fear and all is depictured so well !! You can feel the panic through how terrifying the situation is for them !! Being trapped in a horrible situation with apparently no possible exit, the angst WOAH (with a happy ending of course !!!)

So here we go ! Here's a fanart inspired by a scene of this beautiful fic cause it stayed stuck in my head for monthes, and i always go back to reading it again !

There’s a protest going on against AI art over on artstation, so I feel like now is the time for me to make a statement on this issue!

I wholeheartedly support the ongoing protest against AI art. Why? Because my artwork is included in the datasets used to train these image generators without my consent. I get zero compensation for the use of my art, even though these image generators cost money to use, and are a commercial product.

Musicians are not being treated the same way. Stability has a music generator that only uses royalty free music in their dataset. Their words: “Because diffusion models are prone to memorization and overfitting, releasing a model trained on copyrighted data could potentially result in legal issues.” Why is the work of visual artists being treated differently?

Many have compared image generators to human artists seeking out inspiration. Those two are not the same. My art is literally being fed into these generators through the datasets, and spat back out of a program that has no inherent sense of what is respectful to artists. As long as my art is literally integrated into the system used to create the images, it is commercial use of my art without my consent.

Until there is an ethically sourced database that compensates artists for the use of their images, I am against AI art. I also think platforms should do everything they can to prevent scraping of their content for these databases.

Artists, speak out against this predatory practice! Our art should not be exploited without our consent, and we deserve to be compensated when our art is exploited for commercial use.

What the heck has been going on in this fandom. Everyday I've been seeing posts that are criticizing Jojo (most as jokes, but not all) or even other fan's work, usually about combining the links or how they're characterized.

Jojo didn't want to have to draw 29 links, so they were combined. Yes, some of them are canonically not the same person. Jojo acknowledged that. It's hard to make different personalities for characters, especially when they don't have their own game or any other content Jojo can look at for ideas. They aren't different enough to be different people in Linked Universe, and that's okay. Go ahead, make your own AU or OC's where there are more Links, but don't hate on Jojo for doing what works best for the Linked Universe AU.

And let people characterize the links how they want! There are common tropes people dislike, but other people do and want to write about that, and that's fine! Some people make Warriors cocky, some make Wild feral and if you don't like it, read something else. Write your own fic. Just leave people who are trying to have fun and who are making content you get for free alone.

I also wanna point out that some people are saying how JoJo was slowing down the plot on purpose to keep us more engaged and that… pissed me off so much? As someone who writes stories and has two comics going on rn, there are A LOT of slow moments. I feel so self conscious about it cuz I try to make the slow moments entertaining but at the end of the day, it’s hard to stay engaged with it. Especially since I do it 1 page a week. BUT slow plots are very important to a story! Everything has been high action and now things are settling down and uh… idk… I’m sure there’s not a lot of action packed scenes cuz twi is literally DYING? It’s not gonna feel so slow when you read it all together, and I understand how it’s slightly boring rn but don’t blame and hate on JoJo cuz of this ok? Saying that they’re doing it on purpose is stupid and you clearly don’t know how stories work. It’s hard

Wanted to add some other excellent takes from the notes all in one place, from @leapdayowo and @catreginae

Well, my beloved bamboo just gave up on me.

The led flashed three times and turned off, and even if I plug it back onto my computer, it doesn't really work anymore... it already had a lot of problem these couple month (the sensibility being off and switching between too soft or too hard, the sensitivity turning off for no reason, the sceen not being calibrated to my computer screen, the pen not being detected, the driver not being recognized, etc.) but I usually always managed, but right now WELL.

Had it for quite a long time (2015 ? Something like that ?) but started using it for real in summer 2020 (cause at first I found it way to hard to use, the switch between traditionnal and digital being harsh) (and because of amazing artist that encouraged me into drawing) and let's say I might have overworked it thoses past few month because : too many ideas at the same time plus starting to be comfortable with it (luckyly I found a new model that is affordable, thanks winter sales)

And of course, it stopped in the middle of a lu fanart because of course. Here's the thing (yeah there's a hand missing cause "I'll go back to it later !!") campfire and kid sleeping

Goodbye wacom bamboo ctl-470, you'll be missed !!

New metallic watercolor paint !! Had to try it, even if it doesn't look shiny on camera...

As the original fairy form in the game was pink, made a pink outfit for Hyrule (basically just took the tunic and colored it pink but it look good) and a bunch of other doodle !
