this difficulty will soon be proof of capability.

Manchmal erinnert man sich an letzes Jahr, aber es kommt einem so vor, als wäre es in einem anderen Leben gewesen.

Sometimes you remember the last year, but it seems to you, it was in an another life.

you have so much time, so much ahead of you. you will grow and you will heal. you will find the love of your life, pass the test, visit the place you always wanted to visit, learn the language. in some years you won’t think about the bad grade you got in that one exam, and maybe you will also see that what seems like a failure now was an opportunity all along.

i wrote this five years ago and it couldn’t be more true.

exhalation, a poetry chapbook

i’m so pleased to announce that i have released my first poetry chapbook!

i worked really, really hard on it and am so happy to have finally finished my personal little project!

the chapbook consists of 9 little poems that mostly deal with ambition, self-worth, expectations and validation. while the tone is a bit darker, i’ve tried to include some glimpses of hope as well. i think most of the feelings conveyed will be quite relatable to a large part of the studyblr community, though.

„leave me here / for i have settled long ago“

„some things / once you let them in / will never leave again“

„no motivation / just spite“

download link: here

the chapbook costs 1 euro, though paying more would be greatly appreciated!

the first few buyers get 50% off with the discount code STUDYBLR, so hurry before it expires!!

you can also get 25% off by sharing it on facebook or twitter.

i hope so much that you guys like it, even if it’s a bit different than my usual style on my blog!

of course, four years later, i have a lot of feelings about this. but mostly, i’m so proud that i put myself out there! take this as your reminder to create something today, even if you haven´t for a long time.

The "Might as Well" principle for people with ADHD means leaning into your urge to take care of needs immediately when you notice them, and take that task-hopping tendency as an opportunity to "clean as you go".

You were probably raised to think there's only 1 "right" way to be productive. This is false. You don't need to (and honestly you CAN'T) become neurotypical, but you've probably spent a lot of your life striving to achieve success in a neurotypical way. This can be detrimental to your mental health. You have to learn what works best for YOU.

You don't need to feel guilty for not keeping a strict routine and an aesthetically pleasing home. Your goal should be keeping your environment (minimally) livable and safe.

This principle is intended to help with chore struggles, but it can also apply to personal care, and other areas of the ADHD struggle.

  • Going to the kitchen? Might as well bring as many dishes/cups as you can carry.
  • Going to the bathroom? Might as well wipe down the counter while you're in there (or for me personally, scoop the litter box while I'm there).
  • Taking a shower? Might as well scrub the shower walls while you're there (Be safe! I keep a utility sponge nearby for spot cleaning, but I don't use chemicals during my showers).
  • Forgot to brush your teeth in the morning? Might as well brush after lunch. No need to wait until the next "designated" teeth brushing time at bedtime (minimally, keep some floss picks, tooth wipes, or mouth wash at work/school).
  • Stuck in decision paralysis in front of the fridge? Might as well hydrate. Drink water!
  • Mount doom (laundry pile) giving you anxiety? Might as well pick one category, such as shirts, and sort them out. You don't even have to put them all the way away, just separate them so your doom pile looks smaller and less daunting.

Please feel free to add more!!

The journey of life is not a destination to be reached, but a tapestry to be woven. Embrace the twists and turns, the forks in the road, and the obstacles that cross your path. Each one is an opportunity to learn, to grow, to discover new horizons. Do not be afraid to stray from the beaten path, for that is where the most wondrous treasures lie hidden.

Every day is a new opportunity to create the life you want. It's easy to get stuck in a rut, but remember that change starts with small steps. Start with one small thing today and watch it grow. It might be something as simple as smiling at a stranger, or taking a different route to work. The small things add up, and before you know it, you'll be on your way to creating the life you want.

Take a deep breath, let go of what's out of your control, and trust that everything will work out in the end. It's easy to get caught up in worrying about the future, but remember that the only thing we can control is the present. Focus on today, and trust that the future will take care of itself.

Don't let fear hold you back from chasing your dreams. It's easy to talk ourselves out of taking a risk, but remember that the biggest regret in life is not taking a chance. Believe in yourself and the universe will too. Trust that things will work out, even if it's not in the way you expect. The universe has a way of surprising us. So take that chance, chase that dream and see where it takes you.

Dream big, work hard and stay true to yourself. It's easy to get caught up in comparing yourself to others and feeling inadequate, but remember that your journey is unique and that's what makes it special. Believe in yourself and your abilities. The universe will align to make it happen.

The future is unknown, and that can be scary. But the one thing we do have control over is the present. So focus on today, take it one step at a time and don't let fear hold you back. Trust that things will work out, even if it's not exactly how you planned. The universe has a way of surprising us. Keep an open mind and an open heart.

Life is a journey, and it's not always going to be easy. There will be bumps in the road, detours, and obstacles. But that's what makes the journey worth it. Every obstacle is an opportunity to learn and grow. Every detour is a chance to discover something new. Embrace the journey, and don't be afraid to take a risk. You never know where it might lead you.

you change people. your name makes others smile. your work moves people. someone might compliment you somewhere, right now. someone’s heart will beat faster just thinking about you. your friends remember your experiences fondly. someone might see a book in the store and think of you, too. you inspire others to keep going, or you will someday. your presence matters and changes the world every day.
