"My parents are both musicians, so growing up, I had the desire to want to play with them. I went through Indian drum, broken piccolo, piano, and potentially bassoon, before I started cello lessons. Chamber music is still my passion, but teaching has also become an important part of my life too. It's scary and exciting to think that it's already been six years at Juilliard and that I'll be graduating in May. I'm not exactly sure where I'll end up, or what I'll be doing, but I'm trying to keep my mind open. I also started producing music for fun since last year." ~Ken Kubota, New York, New York You can view his recordings here: https://www.facebook.com/JuilliardHouseMafia/ #music #passion #chambermusic #cello #juilliard #nyc #manhattan #centralpark #lifestyle #teaching #photography #arts

"I was born and raised in Hoboken, NJ. I am pursuing a Bachelor of Music degree from Hunter College, with an emphasis in voice. I appeared last year as Miss Paige in Dane Shore's An Embarrassing Position at the 2014 National Opera Association Convention with Hunter College Opera Theatre. Recently, I performed as Miss Pooder in Thomas Pasatieri's The Hotel Casablanca at Kaye Playhouse. Outside of school, I regularly perform with AdHoc, a New York City-based ensemble of vocalists and musicians that specializes in early music. I study with Susan Gonzalez. I am currently preparing to give a solo graduation recital on March 28th, in Lang Recital Hall at Hunter College. My program consists of songs by Gaetano Donizetti, Franz Schubert, Ernest Chausson, Manuel de Falla and Ricky Ian Gordon. I am really excited about it. Six more months!" ~Carol Szwei, Hoboken, NJ

"I am from Minneapolis, Minnesota. After completing my undergraduate degree from The University of Minnesota-School of Music, I moved to New York City where I worked at The Juilliard School and Columbia Artists Management. I am now pursuing my Masters of Arts in Vocal Performance at Hunter College. My most recent performances include master classes with soprano Claudia Catania and collaborator Warren Jones, as well as the role of Véronique in Thomas Pasatieri’s The Hotel Casablanca at Hunter College. I continue to maintain a private studio in NYC and am a student of Amy Burton." ~Emily R. "I was born and raised in a small town in the middle of Georgia. I moved up to New York City after college to pursue a career in Finance. I want to experience all that this city has to offer; which is why I am also pursuing DJing, acting, politics, and currently trying to publish my first children's book."

"I want it all. I really do. Everything I desire, enjoy, everything that gives me passion, excitement knowingly and unknowingly, I want to do it. I am the creator of the blog R.Smooth Style, an actress, as well as media production professional. Somewhere between the lines of acting, blogging, verbally inspiring and encouraging others, and being a part of great groups of people that make great things happen, exists my oasis.  I remember telling so many people my goals and plans, and they would always tell me, "You have to just pick one and follow that," and "Well you can't do it all!" Gosh, not only were those responses ugly but they were untrue. Why of course I can do it all!  And no, I won't pick one, I may even add a few more just for the thrill of it. You set the standards for your life, no one else.  So choose to make all your goals and plans a living reality.  Anything you want from this life, you can take or create.  My gift is to share that information with everyone and hope that it quickly reaches the souls that have chosen to give up on their dreams. I was once a hesitant dream-chaser. Now, I'm a remarkable Dreamcatcher.  May we all become the very best version of ourselves."

“You may not be a Picasso or Mozart but you don’t have to be. Just create to create. Create to remind yourself you’re still alive. Make stuff to inspire others to make something too. Create to learn a bit more about yourself.” ~Frederick Terral
