The Seijou Members, In Order Of Most To Least Likely To Eat A Bug

Kyoutani Would absolutely eat a bug. He ran out of sports to challenge Iwaizumi in, so he has resorted to creating his own bizarre contests, a list which definitely includes eating bugs at some point.

Hanamaki Tells people to “dare [him] to eat this entire cicada” because he likes seeing the bewilderment that follows such a statement, as well as the chaos that ensues when he does, in fact, eat an entire cicada.

Yahaba Does not want to eat a bug, but will absolutely eat a bug purely to spite Kyoutani, who doesn’t think he can do it. He will pretend the bug-eating doesn’t faze him, but as soon as Kyoutani leaves, he is loudly gagging and complaining to Watari, who is the amused witness to the whole thing.

Iwaizumi Doesn’t particularly want to eat a bug because bugs are friends, but is certainly capable of it, and will eat a bug if necessary to maintain his undefeated victory streak against Kyoutani.

Matsukawa Is usually content to let Hanamaki be the one eating bugs, but will eat bugs if necessary to keep the meme going.

Watari More than capable of eating a bug. In fact, he is capable of eating far more bugs than both Kyoutani and Yahaba, and this is exactly why he chooses not to eat bugs. He prefers to watch them argue over bug-eating instead of getting involved himself because it’s more entertaining that way, and he is secure enough in his own bug-eating capabilities that he doesn’t feel a need to show off about it.

Kunimi Does not care to eat a bug. Does not care to hear about other people eating bugs. He wants nothing to do with this whole bug-eating nonsense. However, on very rare occasions, he will eat a bug, just to get whoever was bothering him about bug-eating to shut up and leave him alone already.

Oikawa Claims that he could eat a bug if he wanted to, he just doesn’t want to in the first place because bugs are gross! “I could totally eat a bug if I wanted to, I’m just not disgusting like Iwa-chan!” (He is absolutely incapable of eating bugs.)

Kindaichi Wants to be able to eat bugs in case it would impress Iwaizumi, but he can’t. He tries, but he just can’t bring himself to go through with it. (Kunimi promptly eats a bug right after he fails, much to his dismay.)

so i basically binge watched all of haikyuu in about a week and this is my takeaway

funny story

when I was little, I would go on Nickelodeon.com all the time and they had this game similar to club penguin except it was called Nicktropolis. and if you forgot your password, a security question you could choose was “what is your eye color?” and if you got it right it’d tell you your password. so I would go to popular locations in Nicktropolis and write down random usernames who were also in those areas, and then i would log out and type in the username as if it were my own and see which of these usernames had a security question set to “what is your eye color?” (which was most of them, since it was easy and we were all kids). i would then try either brown, blue, or green, and always get in, then I would go to their house and send all of their furniture and decorations to my own account’s. and if it I didn’t want it, i could sell it for money
