Hi, my name's Sarah and I am such a multishipper!  ^-^  Ship and let ship.  Enjoy whatever I happen to have brainworms for at the moment.

okay, with all the anti discourse i’ve been seeing out there recently, i just want to say two things:

1) this is a ship and let ship blog.

proshipper, anti anti, whatever you like to call it. if you do not like a ship, simply skip over the content! block the tag! it is simple: you do not have to interact with content you do not like! no one is harming you by posting or interacting with content you find “Problematic™️” or dislike! no one on the internet owes you anything. it is up to you to curate your dash.

2) the “you must be x to write x” trend is harmful.

it asks people to reveal details about themselves that may be dangerous, painful to go through, or simply uncomfortable. once again, no one on the internet owes you anything. how much, if any, personal information someone puts on the internet is up to them, and it is not up to you to decide whether they have “permission” to write something, whether it be “Problematic™️” or not. up until less than two years ago, i did not think i was part of the queer community, but i was writing queer fanfiction. does this make me “Problematic™️”?
you don’t always know if the person writing x really is x—surprise, people can lie or not share that information—and in any case, it isn’t your business. bad portrayals exist—from within and without the community. we can simply not read them. sending hate mail to or doxxing anyone who doesn’t fit your blueprint of “who’s allowed to write xyz” is dangerous and downright awful. let me also remind you once more that i, and all other fanfic authors out there, owe you nothing. you do not have a right to my personal life.

at the heart of all this is the fact that fiction does not equal reality. sometimes people write unhealthy relationships to process trauma. you have no right to demand that knowledge. sometimes they write them because those dynamics are interesting to explore in a work of fiction that, again, does not equal reality. and again, you have no right to know why they write something. it is not up to the writer to impress morality upon the public. further, whether or not a work is moral has no bearing on its value as art. contrary to what purity culture would have you think, morality is entirely subjective and full of grey zones. you are not the sole arbiter of morality. if you disagree with an author’s work, simply do not interact with it.

“there is no such thing as a moral or an immoral book. books are well written, or badly written. that is all.”

—oscar wilde, the picture of dorian grey

tl;dr: don’t like, don’t read.

there's a delicate balance between "seeing something on my dash so often i end up caring about it unexpectedly" and "seeing something on my dash so often that it gets added to the blocked list with extreme prejudice"

We all talk about scenarios where Mario snaps when Luigi is hurt or in worse cases, dies. But I don’t think enough of us explore the idea of Luigi going into a blind rage if Mario is the one seriously hurt.

This is the same guy who tosses ghosts around whenever his brother is trapped by King Boo, I don’t think you want to push him any further.

If you ever tagged me to do one of those tag game thingies and I never did it:

1) Thank you, seriously. Those are fun and being included shows that my followers care enough to want to learn more about me.

2) Very sorry about that, it’s extremely likely that I said to myself “Cool! But I’m busy at the moment, I’ll have to do this later today or tomorrow” before proceeding to just straight-up forget, now it’s too far back in my notifications and/or your blog to find again.

a piece of media that is bad: mundane. effectless

a piece of media that is bad but had the potential to be so so good: unbearable. agonizing. soul crushing even

reblog this if you think the toggle for tumblr live should be permanent instead of a 7-day snooze

trying to prove something to @staff

User hostile UI design is why I left Instagram for tumblr, don’t let the UI become awful here too

There is no reason "don't show me this thing" should be temporary, for any aspect of the UI.

  • When I set my dash to pages instead of infinite scroll, I don't have to reset it every week.
  • When I set my dash to not show "recommended posts," I don't have to reset that.
  • When I pick a color theme, it doesn't revert to the default setting once a week.

Tumblr Live should be no different. People who don't want it, should not have to keep saying so.

AND when the toggle switch says "snooze," it should be OFF. You shouldn't have to turn it ON and then BACK OFF to snooze it.

Get rid of the new photo viewer. Put the tags button back where it goes. Get rid of the bubble around the notes. Stop stealing content from queer users while simultaneously flagging queer content. Do something about the porn bots. Fix the issue with pictures overlaying video previews. Stop giving us ads that loudly auto-play even when auto-playing videos is turned off in our settings. Let us permanently disable tumblr live. Quit making this website worse.

watching a movie at home circa like, 2001 was like

  • put your TV on channel 2 so the VCR will work
  • open up the clamp shell case that held the VHS that has that satisfying crrlikkkkkk
  • put in the movie
  • gdi it has to be rewound
  • press STOP and then rewind because its so much faster that way
  • start the movie and it takes a few seconds for the movie to actually start cause you rewound to the VERY beginning
  • FBI will get you if you illegally distribute or exhibit this movie
  • and then. because you forgot that movies are always so much louder than TV

COMING SOON TO OWN ON VIDEO AND DVD

  • QUICK LOWER THE VOLUME LOWER THE VOLUME LOWER THE VOLUME OH FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Okay crisis averted.
  • although. these ads are kind of quiet. a little hard to hear.....
  • better turn up the volume...

Okay JATP peeps I have a serious question. Trevor Wilson, and Carrie by extension, live above the beach in Malibu. The rest of the action in the show happens in the Los Feliz part of Los Angeles. My problem?

That's a really, really long way for Carrie to be commuting (by car? Taxi? Helicopter?) to school every day. Why would she, presumably, grow up going to school within the Los Feliz school district? If she and Julie grew up together it had to be a conscious choice, either by her, Trevor, or both.

These reasons came to mind, and I just can't help but love these ideas:

Trevor wants to give her as normal of an upbringing as possible, and since he's friends with Rose who has a daughter the same age, they decide that Carrie can go to school there and have at least one friend to start with. Also, Trevor grew up there as Bobby. It's a nice way to stay connected to his past in a small way, even though no one would know Carrie's connection there. Eventually Carrie would want to stay there because that's where she has friends and memories and such.

Also, Carrie's mostly chill reaction to Julie and Flynn showing up at her door is 10x funnier in this context because they had to travel an hour AND get past security in the most extra attempt to pick up their idiot ghost band.
