Mercy (mercscilla). Child of the stars. Working daily & fangirling nightly. Whatever catches her interest at the moment. Mostly a fangirl for anything sci-fi though. 🌟

Nothing is more annoying than electronics that lose charge while not in use. How do you get discharged just laying there. Don't piss me off

To be honest, I too lose charge sometimes when I'm doing nothing...

"But 22 episodes is too much to binge in one session!"

Perhaps we should not consume our entertainment like an eating disorder.

Have something to look forward to every thurday for half a year. A week to build up excitement and theories between episodes (or to yk, be too busy to watch). Time to create art about it.

time to let things find their audience, time for fandoms to build up (time for fandoms to maintain their momentum)

My generations grew up watching the same TV show over the course of their entire school career. That's why Star Trek, for example, has such a large fanbase.

Seven seasons of Voyager means those characters accompanied me for seven years. That's why so many people are attached to shows and characters.

Oh, yes, the lighting for the dramatic scenes were great, especially the spotlight and background lights. Same goes for the romance, such lovely soft illumination.

The comedy? Well, the comedy was just... black.

there's a really funny 3d printing controversy going on btw.

if you don't know, there's a very popular 3d printing model out there called "benchy". this is used for benchmarking your 3d printer because it's a difficult print and will help test it out.

this is so widely used that people make their own little versions of it, remixing the 3d model to make benchy look cooler and stuff. however, a new company owns the benchy license. they are sending copyright takedowns to all those who wrongfully uploaded the benchy model.

of course, this is pissing off the 3d printing community greatly. everyone loved benchy and have used it for years. so someone on reddit decided to make a new model that is designed as a 3d printing stress test. one that works a lot like benchy, and people are freely able to edit it as they please. you know what they called it?

boaty.

Sunspots: Magnetic Depressions - January 13th, 1997.

"Our Sun has spots! These spots appear dark in photographs like the one above, but actually sunspots are quite bright - they are just dark compared to the rest of the Sun. Sunspots are about the size of the Earth and frequently occur in groups, as shown above. Sunspots occur when a concentrated portion of the solar magnetic field pokes through the surface. This field slows energy from entering the sunspot region, causing sunspots to appear cooler, darker, and lower than the surrounding surface. Sunspots typically last about a month or two before dissipating. The number of sunspots is always changing, generally going from a maximum to a minimum about every 5 and a half years. The Sun and sunspots should never be looked at directly."
