I’m planning on making a Tea Dragon Handbook zine (with new information, different to what’s in the back of the printed book!) to sell online and at conventions this year, and I wanted to see if y’all have anything about Tea Dragons that you’re curious to know? Why do some of the tea dragons have jewelry and others don't?
The same reason people do! fashion~
More lengthy answer: some Tea Dragons will take a deep liking to certain trinkets that their owners might find (or present them with). You can’t persuade a Tea Dragon to wear something it doesn’t want to, and likewise it’s very difficult to persuade them not to wear something they have become very taken with. They’re sort of like teenaged cats.

They are for all intents and purposes, husbands! :D
Does picking out the tea leaves hurt the tea dragons at all/can they feel it when they're picked out? I was imagining that it'd be a lot like plucking out a hair or something
It would twinge a bit if the leaf was plucked too early/when it’s still growing, but if the leaf is fully matured and ready to be brewed, then it’s basically like a lizard shedding skin for them!

hello! my brother just asked me a question abt your tea dragons and i figured that youd be the best source for an answer! he asked if the dragons have to steep themselves in water to make tea?
Tea Dragons do love a hot bath, so they’d be happily soaked in some nice hot water! However the tea actually comes from the leaves on their heads, so once you pick some of the leaves you can brew that like you would with any other type of tea.

Does buying from Amazon/bookstore not help the artist?
It totally does, don’t worry! But a lot of local comics stores (LCS) are small businesses, so if you’re able to help them out by ordering directly then it’s a really good way to support local communities! In terms of helping the artist, when you order through a comic store it encourages them to stock copies of the book, which puts them on the shelves so that other customers who may not have heard of the book before will see them. That’s why it’s great to order it via LCS! But Amazon and bookstore are still totally there if the LCS is not convenient or possible!

Will we be able to purchase the physical copy of the TDS online or will we always have to go to a local comic book store?
Don’t worry, you’ll be able to purchase it via Amazon or in normal bookstores as well! Ordering and buying through local comics stores where possible is really awesome because it helps out both the artist and the store, but that’s not always feasible so there are definitely other ways to purchase - I’ll have an Amazon link for you when it’s out!
Will the entire tea dragon comic be in the book?
Absolutely! It’s the whole comic, plus an extra handbook section at the end with additional facts about each type of Tea Dragon and how to look after them!

I’ve had quite a few messages recently letting me know that they’ve seen my older comics reposted without credit (I won’t answer them publicly bc I don’t want the reposter getting dog-piled) - thank you so much for letting me know, and if you wish to report them I very much appreciate it!
However I don’t really mind too much either; I feel those older works don’t really reflect what I’m capable of now, and have already led me to the absolute Best Possible Scenario - a wonderfully generous and kind audience, and the freedom to make comics I really care about with a publisher I respect the heck out of!! So while I really appreciate that people are looking out for me (like for real, it means so much) - reposters don’t actually bother me too much generally.
If someone is selling my artwork for a profit though that’s another story haha please definitely give me a heads up if you see that!
