Subterranean City! 💫

Here’s a piece from my Wishing Stone personal project! This is actually an old painting that I fixed up with a shiny new coat of paint (aka completely new lighting). It was an interesting challenge and fun to revisit!

If you’re curious what the original looked like, I dug up the post from 2016. Pro tip: update your old art! See how you’ve improved!!! :D

i absolutely adore your art style!! i can't wait for your store to open back up!

Thank you so much!! I'm aiming to open the store again in March so I'll let everyone know when it goes live!

Hey! I just discovered your art and fell in love! I noticed you’ve done a lot of coastal scenery but I couldn’t seem to find where they’re from.

I’m a environmental educator, specializing in coastal areas like salt marshes and beaches, and I love collecting art from the places I’ve lived.

By any chance are any of your pieces from the North Carolina, Chesapeake Bay, or Maine areas? I know it’s probably a bit of a long shot since you work in LA rn but I’d love to buy a print or few if you have any from those locations!

Hi there! Great question, thank you! This reminded me that I actually haven’t posted some of these on tumblr so I’ll put them all in a post here. Most of the water/beach studies I’ve done are from Lake Michigan since I lived in Michigan a long time. But I actually have visited North Carolina and Maine and done a handful of studies there!  These recent sketches were from North Carolina in the Surf City area:

Then these ones were also from North Carolina in the Nag’s Head area:

And these were from Maine around Bar Harbor, I think?

I put all these into my Scenic Routes artbook, and the little NC one with the seagull I made into a print recently during my shop opening. The shop is closed at the moment but I’m hoping to open it again sometime in the new year! 💚
