Q: Why didn't the eagles just fly Frodo to Mordor?
A: So I would have something to ponder on my deathbed.

I wanna see more Star Trek episodes where they're doing something "classical" and "ancient" but to us it's completely modern. Classical art technique but it's an iPad and Apple Pencil. Ancient sports but it's like, football. Historical fashion but it's skinny jeans. They're centuries in the future! We're practically ancient to them! They should play with that more.
Odo: Playstation, End Program.
Quark: You have to eject the disc. Here, try GTA. I think you're going to like this one.
{Weird Al playing on speakers}
Janeway: "Dal, you can't just sit here listening to classical music all day."
Kirk: The complete works of Jacqueline Susann, the novels of Harold Robbins....
Spock: Ah...the giants.
(Sure, most of Tumblr doesn't get this line, but someday, their kids won't get the Weird Al reference, either.)
Where do you watch these star trek amvs
youtube........ where all the amvs live....................... i fear we are losing our way forgetting the noble art form of the amv.. this is so sad.. shall reblog with recommendations to spread the art to the amvless
the iconic the original the untouchable star trek tik tok amv that kesha has tweeted about [tik tok]
ds9 last friday night a classic [last friday night] (theres also a tos one thats pretty good but u can find that with the power of the youtube search)
star trek femslash starship trouper idk why its just one of my favorites its so silly and fun [starship trouper]
quodo holding out for a hero is another classique [holding out for a hero]
obsessed with this persons kiradax amvs their impact upon the culture incalculable [suddenly i see]
i realize this was prompted by me posting about tos amvs sorry i actually cannot think of other u know top tier faves at the moment but if u want some history..some herstory one must at some point in their lives watch kirk/spock closer amv 2 million views it was literally in the leonard nimoy documentary and has been cited in many news articles trying desperately to explain the amv phenomenon [closer]
and if u want some REAL historical artifacts i can link u to what might be one of the first star trek amvs ever made from the 80s [both sides now]
I hope it's okay to add some!
Here's a multi-Trek one [this is me] (fun fact, I found and loved this video years before a friend made me watch The Greatest Showman for the first time and was baffled at first when I knew a song from a musical I had never seen)
A gorgeous Kira one that honestly helped me understand her character better when I first saw it as a teenager [shake it out]
An adorable Prodigy one [the adventure]
One that really captures what I love about aos [take on me] (definitely recommend watching this one with headphones on as it's got some overlapping audio that's hard to parse if it's not going into different ears)
This one captures the magic of tng [to better ourselves]
This spirk one with a song is such a cliche for ships that I clicked on it the first time fully intending to laugh at it and then it made me tear up [a thousand years]
And of course this iconic 50th anniversary celebration [explorers]
There's also a TNG Tik Tok vid! It's here! (I want every Trek series to get a Tik Tok vid. I think every Trek series having a Tik Tok vid would be both interesting and educational.)
A vid that truly captures everything great about the first AOS movie: Circus
A DS9 vid about conflict and resistance: Kamikaze
A vid that will make you Feel Feelings about DISCO's wonderful queer found family: Crowded Table
A vid that shows off the best of PIC s1: One Foot
Finally, a vid that will make you Feel Feelings about the long tapestry that is Trek: Long Live.
Teri Garr as Inga - Young Frankenstein (1974)
Funniest movie ever made.
Teri Garr in the TOS ep "Assignment Earth," which was a backdoor pilot for a spinoff that, sadly, never materialized.
OMG LMAO I WOULD NEVER RUN FROM YOU, 50 RATS, I JUST DIDN'T KNOW YOU WERE BEHIND ME
You know what you are so right... We have a bond, these 50 rats and I....
Happy rat day to my most popular post ever
חג שמח! Happy Pesach! (sound on)
LARRY: Where have you been?
LOUISA: I'll tell you in the morning...(pause) Where have you been?
LARRY: They'll tell you in the morning.
Spock guest-starred on the Carol Burnett Show, 1967.
Love it!
Reno: Don’t bury your mind in the abstract for too long. You’ll turn into a Rothko painting.
Stamets: Too late.
So about Moll: I can only imagine that, when the show runner told the team, "Make her scary, but not too scary. Sexy-scary, like Daryl Hannah in Blade Runner. And give her a name that suggests a gangster's girlfriend," she didn't expect to be taken quite so literally.
Two episodes into Disco S5, we seem to be getting the same thing as last season: macguffin-driven, fx-heavy action sequences punctuated by unearned, emotionally flat character beats. Or maybe it's unearned, emotionally flat character beats punctuated by macguffin-driven, fx-heavy action sequences? Oh, well. At least we still have Saru. Oh, wait...WHAT? Damn.
The opening credits alone are worth the price of admission.
David Duchovny, Saks Fifth Avenue Catalog 1995.
DD was the sole model in the Saks menswear catalog that season, and you couldn't get your hands on a copy for love nor money. Ask me how I know.
I’m up to “In a Mirror Darkly,” and it feels like when you wake up to perfect weather on the last full day of your vacation, and you’re happy because you know it’s going to be the best day of an already great trip, but you’re also sad because you know tomorrow you have to go home.
