We have been following James and Tom of The Tempest Two for the past 12 months, as they prepared to row across the Atlantic Ocean unsupported. The pair had never set foot in a rowing boat until a year ago and have dedicated the past year to preparing for the voyage. On Friday they finally set off from the Canary islands and we were there to document their departure. All being well the guys should land in Barbados in early February having completed one of the toughest voyages on earth.

We have produced 5 films documenting the guys progress, HERE is the official launch film we produced along with the support of Jaybird sport We will be in Barbados, along with our production crew, to welcome the pair back to dry land. Stay tuned for our feature length documentary in 2016.

You can track the pairs progress here - http://www.thetempesttwo.com/

Hello everyone,

FIRST 24 HOURS DONE! Buy our book HERE

Thank you so much to everyone who has supported, shared and generally been amazing during our first 24 hours of being live on Kickstarter.

We have reached nearly £4000.00 in that time and we are overjoyed.

Now comes the time when we get to tell you more about the book and what we have planned for the rest of our campaign. We have some amazing updates and some special collaborations, along with giveaways throughout.

This project is a chance for us to share our memories from the last five years, along with helpful advice for anyone thinking of buying their own rolling home, or anyone already out on the road ; ) We also wanted to show how easy it is to do, you don’t need a huge budget, space or building skills. Just a lot of imagination and a good map!

Thanks again,

Calum & Lauren

Ps we also need your help to keep sharing with all of your friends, anyone you think may be interested in our book, loves an adventure or is simply van crazy !

Notes on perpetuating a Lifestyle.

For the last 3 1/2 months we have been living in a static caravan on a friends farm and we have never felt more alive. We moved out of our first rented place, in part because it was too expensive. We make money and then spend it pretty fast on the things we love. Mostly our van and travelling. When we moved we gave away as many physical possessions a possible (most back to the same charity shop we bought them from 18 months earlier)  With an aim to de clutter our lives, remembering how to break the hold that material possessions can put on us. Now it feels apt to do this in a digital sense. We are part of a generation who should all be able to recall, first hand, a time before these endless connection. The ones that fix the gaze of our eyes, and the freedom of our fingers tips. Let's think ourselves extremely lucky indeed, as the next generation will not have a chance to glimpse the world as it was before. Often as with strive to better ourselves, in parallel we lose what it was that made us us.

There are an overwhelming amount of people who share a life here, and shame on us, we should all know not to be true. It may be taboo to say this, and some may scream hypocrite, but this is a truth. The fact is, unless you live and breath a lifestyle, you have little right to circulate a false image of yourself to others. We crave fiction as human beings, ideas to fill our imagination, but fiction is fiction and should always be clearly labeled as such. We are all guilty of at times  being overly romantic, presenting a truth we all know to be a lie. New outdoor brands are to often getting away with producing sub standard products and selling for a premium to people so eager to buy into a lifestyle. I have been trying to be part of a group which I now find repulsive. People are selfish, they fill their heads with second hand ideas and leave no space for any that are truly their own. There are too many filmmakers and photographers, too many self labeled creatives, myself being one of them, to the point where my passion for film died a long time ago. I want to give up my place in a group of ego driven young people. I want to swim in an empty Ocean, not in one full of those trying to make their own waves, yet copying each other's strokes. Let's be truthfull, and not scared to call out the bullshiters. We get payed by brands to shoot content, it's fun and I hope transparent to anyone who views it. But we don't sell our selves out, we save the best for us and you will never get to see all of the truly magical moments in our lives. And we hope we never see those moments in yours. They are for your eyes and your memories- not for the camera. Of late I have felt myself boiling over, filling my head with the lives of others. Living vicariously by definition, leaves us all in a vicarious position. Look up from your phone before life passes you by.

Hi, I just wanted to check you received my order for one of your Onward patches (order no #00026) sent on 19 July. I gather you've been away for a few weeks so thought it may have got lost in a pile of emails! Didn't want to miss out on one of these cool patches :)

Hi!

So sorry I have only just seen this message. Did you receive your patch ok?

Thanks so much,
