he/him, queer, adult I write gay books about monsters, magic, and crime 🦚📚🔮

Hello! I'm St John. You might know me from my modestly popular gay vampire serial What Manner of Man (read it!). Here for the blasphemous, bawdy, and beautiful.

My Novels

❧❧ The Sacred Sins of Father Black —A sensual and transgressive story of forbidden desire

Father Sebastian Black might be a saint, or he might be the devil himself. Poor Agent Quentin Day, sent to investigate a wine forgery ring, finds himself irresistibly falling for the silver-tongued, mysterious priest. It’s a tragedy for him - after all, priests are off-limits, aren’t they? Or is Father Black more than meets the eye?

Hey, hey you. Listen, do you like queer books with queer characters? Do you like books with diverse characters?

Do you want to read about the creation of the first mermaids, about dangerous sirens, shadows that can be savior or destroyer, or deal-making witches? Do you want stories featuring women who love women with a whole cast of queer side characters?

Do you want a monster story about a monster under the bed falling in love with her adult charge while being her charge's last chance to work through childhood fears?

Do you want a story featuring a bisexual main male character finding love later in life? Do you want to read about his pesky little sister who's ace helping with the matchmaking?

Do you want a superhero series with queer characters where the story doesn't center around their queerness? Where being queer is just part of who they are? Where a character being ace is an important plot point for him?

What Manner of Man: Things fall apart 🦇

It was late evening and I was standing at my window, staring, dull-eyed, with troubled thoughts, out into the deepening gloom. Suddenly I perceived the glow of amber-coloured light emanating from some distant part of the manor. It poured like liquid gold across the still, black surface of the water far below. The sight of it awoke poignant, half-forgotten longings in me. It was like the warmth of hearth-fire, of companionship — things I’ve been so long without I scarcely dare to name them. The source, I surmised, was somewhat below and to the west of my chamber.

That forest — dense, alive with green, divine —
