Got back from seeing the movie again and a tiny theme I liked was the solidarity in the younger POC generation vs the older gen.

Margo, Hobie, Pavitr and Miles all had eachother’s back. They fought together, they helped eachother in small ways like Hobie telling Miles to use the palms, and big ways like Miles saving Captain Singh and Margo letting Miles go “home”.

They could’ve stopped him, they could’ve not helped eachother but they did. Because they understood and they all realized what was wrong with the Spider Society. All of them at the end came together to support and help Miles, in the way the rest of the spiders couldn’t.

And when you put that into perspective with Miguel and Jessica, older POC that gave no support. They believe that Miles has to suffer in order to become Spider-Man, that pain will always have to happen.

But the others don’t believe that, they know that best way to be a hero is uplift and help eachother. Often the parents, the older generation compromise their morals and others for the future, for them to grow up safer and yet the future generation always has to reckon with the consequences of those actions without even having a say in the first place.

That’s a damn message, and I love that they used the younger poc generation to show that because this does happen in real life, there is a difference and our parents, our grandparents believe that pain has to happen for our identity to be created.

I've seen people talking about so many different aspects of Across the Spider-verse and all the different Spider-person variations but not so much about the main villian the Spot.

Because he was just some guy, some regular scientist. Looking at what kind of people he worked for it cannot be said he was exactly good but he also wasn't evil, he was just doing his job and happened to be at a wrong time on a wrong place.

And his life seems ruined, he's this wierd spot being but his Forst thought isnt even to plot revenge. He's "shit how do I get a job now", when he decides to steal he decides to steal an ATM machine because he doesn't wanna rob some small business owner it's just such an interesting detail.

Only after being antagonised and called third league villian and only after after Miles does not realise and refuses to acknowledge and listen how he was accomplice in his making the Spot starts his revenge quest. And he's fascinated by his own powers, he's far from mentally stable but he was not evil mad scientist, he's just victim of circumstances.

I’m still not over Miles’s heartbroken expression when he said “I wanted to be with you guys so badly

The way his voice cracked and his body posture was slumped. He turned his face away from Peter because he couldn’t bear to look at him.

Miles chose to pursue a career in physics, even though he loves art because it would bring him closer to seeing the rest of the spiders. Yet he found out that everyone, everyone could’ve seen him.

But they couldn’t bare to look at him, to see him, and god that was heartbreaking. That they were so close to him and yet everytime they chose not to see him, to help the boy, the friend who brought love back into their lives.

And when they did come back to him, they weren’t even there to see him. They all left him alone, while they were with the only other people in the multiverse who could’ve understood eachother.

Oh man Hobie Brown saying know what the war is fighting for before you enlist before Miles asks Miguel to be a part of the spider society which wants him to stand by and let his dad die.... that's CINEMA BABEY!!!

SPOILERS FOR ACROSS THE SPIDERVERSE

A difference I really liked between our Miles Morales and Earth-42 Miles besides that Miles being the Prowler was their style and voice.

Earth 42 Miles has a deeper voice, and has a bit of a more accent because he was raised more by his mother. His walk is more light but confident since he spent more time with Aaron and as the Prowler.

The color schemes for them are different for them as well. Earth-42 Miles has more red and blue lighting, showcasing what he could have become. Whereas our Miles has more red and purple lighting, showing what he could’ve become if not for the spider.

Even Earth 42 Miles’s linea are harsher and more prominent than our Miles, to highlight how his city is struggling more and his face being a bit gaunt because of those circumstances.

And it’s these little differences that separates them besides the hairstyles and I loved it!
