Third entry from my drawing six ships is the OTP that has me actually loving the ending of Endgame: Steve/Peggy from the Marvel Cinematic Universe!

i mean this as is they seem like they’re good at the subject but honestly interpret it as whatever

The "What makes you so special?" "Nothing. I'm just a kid from Brooklyn" exchange is one of the many best moments of the first Captain America movie, because it shows explicitly that the main thing that separates a hero from a villain is humility.

This is my FAVORITE ARC with Rosalyn, and I think it’s the last one Watterson did, which makes it a perfect ending. Because after all the nightmare scenarios, Rosalyn FINALLY FIGURES IT OUT! She learns how to get along with Calvin, manage his energy in a way he enjoys, and lay down rules he will obey, all by readily adopting his silly random game. It’s so wholesome and great and the only time Calvin is HAPPY to have Rosalyn babysit him, and you bet they must have played this every time thereafter that she came to babysit

I love that when his parents come home she’s like “yeah everything was great, Calvin did his homework, we played a game, and he went to bed” and the dad is like “It’s a little late for jokes, Rosalyn.”

No but take the time to actually read it because I lost like 15 minutes.

I have a friend who is really good at this type of thing.  He once found an old globe at a garage sale and he was able to pin the date of it’s making down to like a 6 month window, because it only would’ve been correct during a specific point in WWII.  

I was mad impressed, because I have no mind for geography.  I can barely remember my own state’s capitol.

The elves of middle earth having the same “call your dad when you don’t know how to fix a problem” instinct but because they live forever it’s like

Some elf starts experiencing the elven equivalent of car trouble (idk, horse won’t go?) and calls his dad, and then his dad can’t figure it out so he calls HIS dad and so on and so forth until you’ve got this guys entire lineage all huddled together in elven cargo shorts trying to solve a dented horseshoe

The problem (?) with GKC is he does have these great little pithy quotes, but you gotta get the context, which is 37 sentences either side of the pithy quote.

“I suppose,” said Parker, “I ought not to have presumed—”

“What did you presume, old thing?” said Wimsey, his head cocked, sparrow-fashion.

“Nothing to which anybody could object,” said Parker, hotly. “What are you thinking of, Wimsey? I quite see that it is unsuitable, from your point of view, that Lady Mary Wimsey should dine in public restaurants with a policeman, but if you imagine I have ever said a word to her that could not be said with the greatest propriety—”

“—in the presence of her mother, you wrong the purest and sweetest woman that ever lived, and insult your friend,” interrupted Peter, snatching the words from his mouth and rattling them to a glib conclusion. “What a perfect Victorian you are, Charles. I should like to keep you in a glass case. Of course you haven’t said a word. What I want to know is, why?”

Parker stared at him.

“For the last five years or so,” said Wimsey, “you have been looking like a demented sheep at my sister, and starting like a rabbit whenever her name is mentioned. What do you mean by it?
