Please remember that just because the government is giving into pressure and greed, that doesn’t mean that any of this is getting any better, in a lot of ways it’s getting worse. And even if you yourself aren’t being as heavily affected anymore, there are people and communities that are.

I’ve been fascinated with the underground town of Coober Pedy, in Australia, b/c it’s the Opal mining capital of the world, and my birthstone is Opal. Plus, it’s a very interesting place. 

B/c it’s so hot, 80% of the town is underground. You can buy an above-ground house, if you really want one, but all homes are relatively inexpensive.

Shopping is underground.

Bars, coffee shops, & restaurants are also underground.

Churches are underground, too.

You can visit & stay in one of the many motels, too. This is the lobby of a Comfort Inn.

In High School Musical 2 Sharpay very clearly states that they have “…Iced tea imported from England, life guards imported from Spain, towels imported from Turkey, and turkey imported from Maine.” In order to import an item, it must come from another country. The series is set in Albequerque, New Mexico, and as New Mexico and Maine are both part of the United States Of America, they cannot have their turkey imported from Maine.
