We’ve seen those pictures of you when you visit hospitals, you visit schools, and that must be  an amazing gift to be able to give those people. 
I mean, for me it’s the gift. They’re giving me the gift because to go to a place where– you know, I’ve spent time in Great Ormond Street where I was the parent when my daughter was ill and it was… I’ve known darkness in my life but that was the darkest period ever. (…) I’d always kind of done this kind of visits but after that the visits became more and more important because the kids, bless them, they are so strong, they are so courageous, but the parents are the ones who are slowly dying. And to be able to bring a smile or a giggle to these people it means everything in the world to me, far more than making films.

staramartin Johnny Depp. I just met Johnny Depp. I just met the man who single-handedly gave me back a piece of my childhood when it was so viciously ripped from me. I just met the man who gave me happiness and a friend in his character’s when I had none. I just met the man who gave me a shred of light in a seemingly endless darkness. The man who inspired me in a way, from such a young age, that I knew I wanted to share that feeling with the rest of the world. The reason I’m pursuing acting, to make others feel the way he made and continues to make me feel. The reason I have a tattoo on my back of an Edward Scissorhands hand, that I look at in the mirror every day and smile at. The reason I am where I am today, and love what I love. I just met my biggest inspiration and hero in the whole world, and thanked him after waiting my entire life to thank him for everything he’s done for me. He listened to me so deeply that he verified info about my life because he wanted to be sure he knew. He called me “angel,” and said he was proud of me. He told me to write every single day, that it will help me with acting, and keep me going. He thanked me for coming to see him today, and he hugged me three times. This man is such a big piece of who I am, and words will never express how grateful I am to him for everything he’s done for me. I am over the moon. Best day of my life.
