I wonder as I wander...

@stellaluna33

Daydreams and obsessions... Art, writing, and probably mostly Gilmore Girls

I am trying not to worry too much, but it's not working!!! I've only had her for three days, but she's my sweet little kitty and seeing blood on her is just... 😩. I hate it, I hate it!

I open a crinkly plastic package in the kitchen, and then look up to see that Romeo's golden eyes have instantly snapped open from where he was snoozing in the cat tree. But... sorry son, this is trail mix.

Nothing is funnier than Lorelai yelling at Rory for hanging out with Jess because he’s going to ‘get her into trouble.’ The two got pizza and then looked at books—whoa! Can’t believe Jess would take Rory to do such a dangerous activity like that! How dare he!

The best part of Literati is that hanging out with Rory did legitimately put Jess' (completely innocent and age/gender typical) prankster behavior to a complete stop. He was like, nah I just wanna read books with you and cuddle now.

Like we were 100% sold Literati as like, a bad boy opens up the world for the repressed good girl troupe through Lorelai, but what we got was hermit married couple behavior. Literally trading books and watching movies. Literally just date nights staying in, because we like each other's company. Literally just quality time love language behavior.

People kept saying there's more of a risk of cats not getting along if you adopt them as adults, but this seems to be going ok! (Well, he's technically a teenager, but still!). Look at them. 🥺🥰

listen. listen. the consumption of animal products is about mutually beneficial relationships Not domination and that's why prioritizing animal r*ghts over animal welfare is an absolutely brain fungus take to have

urban leftists who've never so much as raised a chicken will be like "umm think about the politics of your diet???" because they can't conceive of the fact that domestication is an incredibly sweet gig for most livestock where they don't have to look for their own food or shelter or water are protected from predators and also get free healthcare and a quick clean death

100%

The actual issues with our current livestock system are because of capitalism and industrialization. Can we please focus our energy on the global paradigm being cruel and unsustainable to us, the planet, AND livestock instead of getting lost in virtue signaling

Oh, so there's ONE bobby pin I forgot to pick up, so of course Romeo finds it and clamps it in his little teeth and tries to scurry off to his den with it like he found a buried treasure... 🙄

(Romeo and the bobby pin were separated rescued from each other, don't worry)

So I'm trying to make folk linen pants from sowing to sewing.

Second post (here's first)

It's been about 60 days since sowing (it's 22nd of June). It's looking so pretty and started blooming about 55th day. I've been watering it one or two wheelbarrows of every 2 weeks, which I thought would be too little but it's growing pretty good. It's still not that high (about over the knee) and I doubt it'll get much higher sadly. That means lower grade of fibers but whatever. It'll be fine.

Every now and again there are parts laying down and I've been seeing some hares running about so they probably hide in it tramping down the plants. But it gets up no problem so all good. Maybe next time I'll put up a little fence around it.

Also idk when should I harvest it bc all the info is about oil flax, not textile flax, and even then it's contradictory sometimes. But either way it's around 100-120th day, so we're still only halfway.

Next up I need to start thinking about scuthing it, and it requires some equipment. But it's easy enough to build on my own probably. It should be something like this flax-brake:

And then this kind of metal comb, which I'll make just by densly putting nails in a blank:

So yeah, that's the plans for the near future. Here's a bonus flax video if you stayed till the end ❤️

About how Jess fits perfectly in the High Sensitive Person profile.

(Sorry about the quality of the screenshots).

HSP are often misunderstood or mislabelled because of their coping mechanism and the way they interact with their surroundings. I think Jess is a perfect example of this. This is why.

What are the most common traits in HSP?

  • They have rich inner life.
  • They pick up subtle things and attitudes (positive and/or negative).
  • They react strongly (to positive or negative feedback).
  • They are highly empathetic.
  • They can try to reduce pain/emotions with unhealthy behaviors.
  • They need support from their environment until they know how to manage their emotions and their brain is fully developed. (Sadly I have not a single image for this)
  • They tend to success once they learn how to manage their emotions.
  • They need downtime to recover when overstimulated or when they are overwhelmed by emotions.
  • They feel drained by small talk and very often are socially awkward.
  • Changes usually bring anxiety.
  • When they really connect with someone it is an insightful connection.

And something else as important as the above mentioned: neglected  high sensitive kids develop:

  • Inability to ask for help.
  • Profound sense of loneliness.
  • Energy crashes/panic attacks
  • The thought that there is something wrong with them.
  • Confidence issues .
  • Repression of emotions in order to cope but when these emotions remerge they do it strongly.
  • Sarcasm can be used as a mechanism to keep people far from their real person and emotions.

I don't think I have seen a lot of HS characters as well portrayed as Jess and that is why I will always be on his side.

Help! My legs are falling asleep and I can't move because something is sleeping on me! It's not a cat, though. It's one of my kids, because we let them have a "sleepover" in the living room with the cats last night, and not much "sleep" was had I think. 😆

Jess leaves town right after the accident, presumably because he feels guilty about hurting Rory (like everyone said he would). Next episode, Rory is dealing with the fallout. Everyone is blaming Jess and she hates it. Luke has left town to decompress.

At the very end of the episode, Rory says to Luke (who has just returned home) that it wasn't Jess' fault. Jess just left so fast because he felt so guilty and so much self-hate. I'm sure Luke barely got a chance to help him emotionally process the accident.

Rory never got a chance to tell Jess that the accident, that her injured wrist, wasn't his fault.
