What if Apollo became the new director of camp chb?

This would be the best. Just the best.

  • I feel like a lot of people might think Apollo would be biased towards his kids but honestly I don’t think so. He obviously loves his kids, but Apollo also has a strong sense of responsibility towards others, even near strangers, so I think he’d really be dedicated to giving each kid at CHB a lot of attention and care.
  • As the god of prophecy who has said he loses track of people and time, I feel like there’s going to be at least one moment where Apollo a) accidentally thinks he’s lost a kid who isn’t even born yet, or b) Ask a kid how they feel about a big event in their life that either happened years ago or will not happen for many years to come. Dionysus messes up names, Apollo messes up time.
  • Apollo replacing all the food at CHB with fancier food except for the bacon bc bacon is “Sacred”
  • I love the idea of Apollo starting the demigod equivalent of an agriculture class in CHB, with a whole bunch of mythical peaceful animals for the kids to take care of. Some animals are also trained as support animals that demigods can take with them out into the real world,
  • I feel like Apollo would want to build up the infrastructure of CHB, to make it a bit more equal to Camp Jupiter. It doesn’t have to be the same, obviously, but the fact that Camp Jupiter has things like college and adults and CHB doesn’t is a pretty big issue. Plus Apollo has mythological ties to building cities and also, like, the whole idea of knowledge, so building a college town is probably one of  his ideas for a fun Friday night.
  • BUT I think the difference between the two camps would become what you could study there. Basically I want CHB to become the humanities focused, philosophy loving artsy school to rival CJ’s stem focused, military based research school. And all the demigods that go to the two schools have a fun little college rivalry.
  • Apollo likes disguising himself and going on little mini-quests with campers. Honestly, I can see him being a bit of a trickster-like mentor figure. He wants campers to have a low-stakes, fun introduction to the mythological world, and he knows that the younger campers are intimidated by his godly presence. So sometimes, a “new” Apollo kid will bring the younger campers out to meet the satyrs, or to check out the entrance of the labyrinth. Basically, he went “Why do we keep sending these kids out without a chaperone?” and then immediately volunteered himself to be said chaperone.
  • Apollo tries his hardest to hold himself back during the campfire, as he knows others will feel embarrassed to sing if the god of music is also taking part. But sometimes he can’t help himself lol. It’s ok, it's only like once a month.

As I said at the start, this would be the best.

Hope you don't mind @orc-sign-language but I think these tags are very important for people to understand why AAA games and their companies are under a lot of backlash and most games are copy-paste

Beep boop! I look for accidental haiku posts. Sometimes I mess up.

it's amazing how ordinary objects can become so significant to only the owner

when my aunt's best friend passed away, my younger brother was four years old. at his funeral, my brother went up to her and gave her a nickel. he told her very solemnly that it would make her feel better. she smiled for the first time in days, and tucked it in her wallet.

when my brother was 22, his best friend passed away unexpectedly. my aunt drove three hours to be there for him at the funeral. she went up to my brother, gave him a big hug, and then gave him a nickel. it was the same nickel; she had kept it in her wallet for 18 years, and now it's on a necklace that he never takes off.

what i'm trying to say is that the love you put into the world will always find its way back to you.

the little THO detail of Apollo answering “you’re welcome” when Chiron says “thank the gods” and him implying it’s something he does often…

The differences in Percy learning Nico wants to leave camp vs Will is so funny to me and actually very telling.

Yes, these two scenes are a few years apart, but the fact that they literally had opposite reactions cracks me up.

Percy was like, "I don't like it, but you're right. You don't belong. Okay, bye!"

And Will was like, "The only one who thinks you don't belong is you! You have a place here, no matter what anyone says! If you actually gave us a chance, you'll see some people are actually interested in getting to know you!!!"

Literally opposites. Percy agreed that Nico didn't belong and didn't even try to convince Nico to give camp a chance, while Will was more offended at the idea that Nico thought he didn't belong at camp than at the fact that Nico didn't want to stay.

It's just so funny to me.

Percy’s reaction makes a lot more sense when you consider how much the campers pushed him away when he was first claimed by Poseidon, who doesn’t even have as dark a reputation. Everybody hated him, everyone avoided him, and he was kicked out after a week to go on a death quest. Then a year later, after he was finally accepted at camp, he had to gain their trust all over again when his cyclops brother came to camp. Besides, Percy has had his fair share of moments wanting to leave the camp and the judgement of the other campers, and go train with his father under the sea.

Percy must have been thinking “if things were this bad for me, how much worse would it be for Nico, who will have much darker powers and would still have to stay in the overcrowded Hermes cabin?”

Does this make him right? No of course not. If Nico had stuck around, the other campers could have worked through their discomfort with him over time. He certainly could have tried harder to convince Nico that the other campers could overcome their instinctive fear. But Percy’s not in the habit of making others do anything against their will. He always lets people take the path they think is best for them, no matter how much he would prefer to interfere. Letting his mom deal with Smelly Gabe herself. Letting go of Tyson so he could go join the Cyclops forges. Not arguing when Thalia joins the Hunters of Artemis. Even going home at the end of every summer, saying goodbye to Camp Half Blood and Annabeth, when it would have been safer to stay and train year round.
