a hot take!! noelle stevenson i owe you my life
Hell yea. Glimmer’s entire existence made me feel better about my body type fr
Also he original designs are also just actually garbage??? Like from an artist’s standpoint those designs are horrible?? The colours are bad, the outfits are bad, the lack of diversity is bad. I appreciate it’s existence cause without it the reboot wouldn’t exist, but seeing both I really don’t get why anyone’s mad about the new one.
REALLY?
Glimmer made you confident? The rebellious teen stereotype who constantly makes everything worse, fucks up every plan, pushes everyone away, stupidly wastes her powers, never listens to her superiors and constantly belittles her friends made you confident? I’m not mad she’s chubby, I’m mad that she’s a horrible human being that shouldn’t be idolized.
And “it’s bad” is not an argument.
I’m literally just happy about my body type being portrayed. : / Like really, my entire point had NOTHING to do with her personality, but since we’re here..
Have you ever met teenagers? That’s literally just how they are sometimes. They do stupid shit and make mistakes, it’s all a part of growing up. And don’t act like she’s fucking evil for grieving while also having to take on the responsibility of a whole kingdom when she’s not even a fully developed adult yet. Should she have been so rude to her friends? No. But it’s not like it came out of nowhere, she was going through shit.
She’s not a horrible person for being a literal child with flaws, gtfo with that shit.
A child put in control of several missions important to win a war. If that’s what she was meant to be, then the show should have acknowledged how horrible she was and punished her for it. Being a child isn’t an excuse.
But we get 5 seasons of an annoying whiny brat. And that’s the problem. She BARELY grows.
Being a child isn’t an excuse for being a child???? 🤔
Also what do you mean?? She did grow by the end of it, she made up with her friends, everything was fine. And why would she need to be punished anyways? It’s not like she broke the law, she was just going through it???? Jesus Christ lmao????
Like I do agree to a certain extent, I stopped liking her as much at this point due to her actions, but like chill out bro it’s a cartoon character.
I’m looking at the narrative. The unwritten law of writing characters says that if a character messes up, or the like, they need to be punished in one form or another. Be it guilt, getting called out, or their actions coming back to bite them. They need to show at least some immediate growth. Mess up, deal with the reprecussions, learn from your mistakes. Unless the character’s lack of growth is a deliberate point that comes back to bite them later.
But no, Glimmer messes up, someone else fixes it, and she gets to feel good about it. At least from what I’ve seen until I was tired of putting up with her.
OP seems especially bizarre when it’s about a show on Netflix, which has loads of shows for women, LGBT folks, and LGBT women.
There’s an entire movie genre aimed mainly at women, and films about LGBT folks are common award-bait and critical-darlings, and Steven Universe was possibly the most popular cartoon Cartoon Network has ever had. It’s in the running, at least.
Also, I love how people said the new designs were more practical for girls, but completely ignored how She-Ra’s friend still had his stomach exposed.
I had to look up Glimmer to see if it was the character I was thinking of. And like, they’re proud that their body type is being represented by… this?
This is just a normal ass looking person with pink hair! What the fuck kind of nonsense are they talking about? Like, what part of this bodytype is not represented in popular media at large?
She had a less flattering look in S1;

This is a wonderful depiction of how feminists see themselves - as the adults screaming at ungrateful man babies, who have everything in the world.
But the things feminists point to covetously were created by men, and feminists mostly do not create, they infiltrate and subvert men’s work, to take it from them, and when it falls apart due to their incompetence, they move to another and another…
And pretend there is no alternative, even as SYABM pointed out, despite the original flood of shows pandering to them.
And when it happens to ‘their’ show? They can’t cope. How dare the rules they established be applied to them as well?
And many of them didn’t even wait for The Authority to ask.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: social media took all those nasty, petty, juvenile cliques from highschool and put them on the national stage. And, and, somehow legitimized them. Now, most adults act like they’re still in highschool. It’s horrifying. I know people my age that are still approaching life with the same mindset they had when they were 16. So MUCH highschool bullshit. They’ll be completely awful to someone for no fucking reason, and then strut around like they’re the shit. You know, that smug “I just showed them” look of self-satisfaction. No, sorry, the only thing you showed anyone is that you’re just a garbage person. If your whole sense of self worth is built on you being a petulant little shit, it’s time to grow up.
Hope all of you who wanted it to be cold again are proud of yourselves
i am thank you
What do you mean "no sunburns?" snow reflects sunlight like crazy, some of my worst sunburns have been in winter.
No sweating.
Shout out to pornhub acknowledging national women’s day more than Facebook or tumblr
thank god for women, otherwise who else would we demean, objectify and abuse!
did pornhub effectivly use girlpower when they put videos of 14 year old girls getting raped on their site?
U know when avatar does that thing where it flashes back to a childhood memory of a character and then focuses on their face and fades back in on them at the same angle but older and changed....... gets me every time
EXACTLY!!!!!!!!
Thank you all for successfully breaking my heart!!!! Well done everyone if anyone needs me I’ll be off Coping with this collection of images
A local resident puts love hearts and slogans on the plastic that covers offensive graffiti on the vandalised mural of Manchester United striker and England player Marcus Rashford on the wall of a cafe on Copson Street, Withington on July 12, 2021 in Manchester, England. Rashford and other Black players on England’s national football team have been the target of racist abuse, largely on social media, after the team’s loss to Italy in the UEFA European Football Championship last night.
A defaced mural of Marcus Rashford is repaired by the artist Akse P19 on July 13, 2021 in Manchester, England.
Straight People: why do gay people ALWAYS have to project onto characters? Not everything has to be gay! Just because this character doesn't have a love interest means they're gay!
Me: straight people literally said Rhodey and Captain Marvel would be a thing because they had one interaction where Captain Marvel says, "Good luck" to him, but pop off sis.
And we can’t forget about Tharol lol. They had one scene where they did the hero stare and boom straight fangirls are screaming.
Actually Carol and Rhody where an item in the comics at the time end game came out. So it would make sense that they thought they would be a thing in the MCU

But why Ravi from iZombie?
Randomly chosen Wokester Tweet. I just used the Inspect tool to change the text.
But will it? It must.
It must change indeed, but there are structural obstacles in place to overcome.
President Biden is correct: America's unique and peculiar fascination with guns is now an international embarrassment with the continuation of school shootings.
The situation must change. The US Congress must pass legislation to curb rising gun violence.
......are you referring to the gun control laws which make it illegal to have a firearm on most school grounds?
Seriously - which ok the 20k laws on the books aren’t doing it for you?
