Second headcannon: Aelin and Rowan go shopping. (I’m sorry these aren’t done, I’m working on it I promise!)

3.aedionwhitethorn Aelin gets hurt in battle and Rowan feels it though their bond (!!!)

4. infininate27 Aelin panics and burns out, but Rowan cares for her. (LOVE)

People have got to stop justifying Chaol’s awful behavior by using Rowan’s “abusive” nature. I’d like to point out that Rowan never abused Aelin. Yes, he punched her. Guess what, she punched him too. Fae law works a bit differently than human law. He was doing as he was asked: training her. Teaching her discipline and control. Aelin forgave him, so you should too.

Secondly, Rowan fans don’t love him because of his appearance. It’s bullshit if you think that’s the reason we love him more than Chaol. Sure, he is hot. So are most of the characters in the book series. Including Chaol. I’m pretty sure the Valg were described as gods, but you don’t see fans worshiping them for their looks, now do you.

Here’s the painful truth: Chaol is judgmental, controlling, and single-minded. He would rather his friends have no powers at all because he fears them for it. He follows a man he KNOWS is corrupt, meanwhile it took Dorian’s downfall to finally spur him into action. He left his mother home with his abusive father and little brother (who doesn’t want to be lord, either). He worries about what Aelin will do to Adarlan when she returns, as if the country doesn’t deserve whatever she delivers (which, meanwhile, we all know she has no intentions of slaughtering the Adarlanians. Only those who rule to land and those who follow the court).

Rowan’s in no way perfect. But he’s not abusive, nor should he be subjected for the same acts that Aelin (and half the other characters in the book, mind you) performed at some point. Rowan is a better man than Chaol. That’s my opinion, and you don’t have to agree with it. But the evidence shows.

OMG CUE THE SCREAMING. SARAH CAN U HEAR ME? *grabby hands*

What if Aelin secretly has a really cute sneeze and the first time Chaol, Dorian or Rowan etc hear it she’s like “tell anyone about this and I’ll gut you” but whoever hears it just looks at her with huge eyes then starts to bundle her up in a blanket and hug her while she tries to get away.
