Painting with paint is already great, but painting with gunpowder is explosively and awesome. Jackson Hole, WY-based artist Danny Shervin painstakingly works with dust-like particles of gunpowder and acrylic paint to create pointillistic images of local wildlife. Each piece takes many hours to set up and isn’t complete until Shervin ignites the gunpowder. The mesmerizing flames burn the image into place on its canvas:
