feel free to play if you’d like :)
I'm not tagging because I dislike horridly long threads.
They didn't have a medium-length hair option, so I just ended up looking like Frisk Undertale. Whoops.
tried to get my mullet as close as I could… need more mullet picrews </3
not tagging bc I barely have any tumblr buds!
"you're good at art you should go to college you should start animation you should get a job in the industry you have so much potential" I SHOULD BE IN THE WOODS. EATING POISONOUS BERRIES
The One Piece bulletin board I made for my students' standardized testing this week.
Do you ever think about brook thinking about being human? How that changes how his music sounds? How the skin of your fingers grow calluses from the strings, and how bone doesn’t do that? How bone against string will fundamentally sound different rather than soft flesh? Do you think Brook ever misses the way his music sounded when he was alive? Or do you think he's glad that the sound changed? That they way he used to play will always remain with his first crew and his new sound is for memories with his new crew?
Also a version in one image below :)
‘This is fine’ - One Piece addition.
so crazy to me how transphobes can watch one piece and think that it doesnt have any queer themes or that the queerness of it is gross and meant to be looked down upon when clearly a vast majority of the queer characters are depicted as being wholly accepted by luffy and the strawhats and also as being amazing people worthy of love and respect
i know i get pissed about the yamato gender discourse/general transphobia in the one piece fandom at least once a month... but how do you read this panel and miss the point. freedom is such an important concept in the series and, as we see from the newkamas, that includes the freedom to identify as whatever gender you want. you are actively ignoring and disrespecting one piece's values when you misgender yamato, kiku, or any other character. i hate people.
Let people be trans and they will be happier and love themself. And help you do crime.
I made an edit for Yorki, I miss him a lot, I know everyone must.. right?

Studying manga textures + drawing unhinged teens. Blackwhip is surprisingly relaxing to draw?
This comic takes place a couple years after luffy has become pirate king btw, the crew are probably adventuring somewhere in the South Blues rn
When I was first getting into the series I remember there being a little bit of a controversy about Zoro stealing Brook's fight. I don't know if there are still people out there who don't like it, but I've come around on the idea. Brook's main job isn't swordsman, it's a fun little bonus that helps round him out, and Straw Hats helping Straw Hats has always been an important part of the series.
And this ends up being a really nice, understated part of Brook's character. He is a man without pride, all he cares about is getting back to Laboon and fulfilling the promise of his dead crew. How that happens doesn't matter. It's an interesting theme to dissect throughout the series, because there are times in One Piece where pride is extremely important, and others such as this when it's best to set it aside. The difference between the two is figuring out if a person's pride is in service to their dream or convictions. Zoro thinks wounds on the back is shameful because it ties into his identity as a swordsman, but Brook running away from his own zombie is what's necessary to reunite with Laboon. It's comparing apples to oranges, and I like that Oda includes that kind of nuance in the series.
Brook if Robin used her devilfruit powers on him
