Manjiro sighed, a pout slowly forming on his lips. It had already been four hours. Four goddamn hours and you still haven’t as much as glanced in his direction. He just couldn’t help it. Did you not love him anymore? It sure as hell seemed to be that way considering the amount of time you were willing to spend doing math.

The boy groaned loudly, hoping to get your attention. He then closed his eyes and let out a deep sigh that conveyed his utter agony. Two minutes passed, then five, and finally six.

Manjiro peered at your silent figure through his lashes, his right eyebrow twitching in annoyance at the lack of attention he was receiving. How could you be so indifferent? After all, your boyfriend was lying sprawled on your bed in the same room where you were doing homework, and all you had to do was ask him if he was okay.

Just imagine the pout that MANJIRO will carry throughout the whole day after he had no choice but to ask Ken-chin to do his hair when he woke up this morning. The boy won’t stop clinging onto you like a koala once he gets to see you again, shooting glares at anyone who has the audacity to steal your attention from him.

It's not just because you didn't do his hair, but also because he didn't have his daily dose of your presence this morning to function properly afterwards. Ken-chin's hands were just so rough, and Manjiro couldn't ask him to stroke his hair like he would ask you, because he always refuses to let you use a hairbrush. Why would he? Your hands are much softer and gentler than that trashy, plastic, hair bully.

He doesn’t care that you were busy this morning and will get his way one way or another. If small white lies such as him having a migraine don’t work, then he will simply demand you brush it while tugging the hairband on his ash-blonde locks harshly. Neither does he care for the literal daggers that Ken-chin’s throwing his way — you’re way more important.

It’s unnerving. The way he keeps staring at you. Black, abyssal eyes penetrate your soul, making you feel exposed — naked even. You don’t know what he wants — what he’s expecting from you.

You feel small under his gaze; like a mouse. It doesn’t seem to bother him whatsoever, dead eyes simply watching you from the other side of the classroom, not paying any mind to what the teacher is saying. Usually you would have at least tried to pay attention — which you are — but the blond boy sitting at the back of the classroom is staring so intently, you can practically feel his eyes lingering on your vulnerable figure.

He doesn’t break eye contact when you look in his direction, and you find yourself shrinking. Perhaps you’re overreacting. One of your friends had once told you that he probably likes you, but you’re not too sure. Not when he keeps looking at you in a similar way that a predator watches its prey. You rake through your brain, trying to remember at what exact instance you had managed to anger the gang leader, but find none.

It's a Tuesday night, or at least it was when you first went to sleep. The nonstop vibration of your phone combined with the light that comes from it is enough to disturb your deep slumber.

You grunt, eyes squinting as you try to adjust to the brightness. Your warm hand comes out from its place underneath your pillow, only to be received by a rush of cold air that comes from the AC. Your fingers tremble gently while trying your best to type in your passcode, though your brain isn't fully awake.
