unbothered. moisturized. happy. in my lane. focused. flourishing

I had the weirdest interaction at work today.

I work at an art store, and a rep from a pencil company is here to show us some new products. And while showing me some colored pencils he says “now I’m going to say something sexist” and then proceeds to say something that wasn’t sexist.

He said “old guys like me, and women really like these pencils.” and I’m just??? That sentence on its own isn’t sexist, but since you announced it as so I’m not so sure.

Hello white mutuals. Before you is a charcuterie board with 15 different types of cheese. If you manage to go 12 hours without touching the cheeses you can leave this room. Good luck.

I was eating off this cool cheese plate while you were talking can you repeat that pls

I wanted to enter Otakon’s costume contest with the obi-wan cosplay I’m making cus I’m putting an insane amount of work into the wig. But I’m not allow to compete cus obi-wan isn’t from anime.

I also can’t enter into the masquerade or the LARP stuff with him either for the same reason. Basically all costume showcases I can’t enter cus he ain’t from anime.

And sure fine whatever, it’s an anime convention. But I can’t help but feel annoyed that I’m going to this big convention, putting a lot of effort into this costume, just to be told I can’t compete in any competitions because I chose to cosplay something that wasn’t from anime or eastern produced media.

I don’t want to sound like a jackass or whatever because Star Wars is the one of biggest franchises in the universe, and this is an anime convention focused solely on celebrating Japanese and other Asian media. But I can’t help but feeling torn because a lot of people dress up to anime conventions in things other than anime.

I could bring Sasuke just to enter out of spite, but I don’t want to deal with having to change in and out of costumes since the two cosplays I’m bringing require gluing wigs to my face

the way people are so fast to jump into the trend of sexualizing the newest popular hispanic character and make them into some sort of latin lover without regard to their actual personality traits and backstory...... scary
