really love that spock became a teacher like he already had specialist old man professor in the whole world energy even before the movies but i just KNOW those cadets loved his ass i know they are out there mentally drawing little cat ears on this 80(or whatever) yr old just like we are doing in the real world..........i know his rate my professor page is legendary i know it includes an eyeshadow glossary

Everyone is scared to death of being in Captain Spock's class... until they meet him.

Yeah, he's kinda monotone, he's got a dry sense of humor, and you probably wouldn't go to him for relationship advice. But he loves his students, and it's clear in everything he says or does. If you need help in his class, he's got you. If you need help in another class, he's got you, or he'll point you in the direction of someone who does. If you need academic accommodations, he will help you set those up. He is a sponsor for multiple organizations on campus. He brings his cat to campus and lets it wander around the classroom for students to pet. He bakes lemon bars and brings them on test days for students to snack on when the curriculum gets especially stressful.

Honestly the fact that he does all of this with a deadpan expression and see-through "logical" excuses makes it all the more endearing to everyone.

I'm proud to present... me typing in Bajoran! finally!

admittedly this vid is a bit jank due to me being too excited to just screen record and go to actually close programs that i know make my Streamlabs lag, but regardless HERE IT IS

I still have a few things(the damn lowercase t) to fix in the romanization half of the font, but that bit's only really in there to see if i could pull it off

but im pretty happy with everything else! so the keyboard file and the font file will both be put into a dropbox or smthn to share with y'all, along with instructions on how to download, how to type, and some spelling things that are really just for in-world building (i.e. [n] is substituted with the [ni] character, but when [n] is in a cluster like [nt] or [nj], the [n] is instead written as [ne], which the writer has to keep in mind as it automatically makes a solo [n] into [ni]). I'll also, of course, provide a link to Keyman itself, as that's what i used to the keyboard creation. in the future i'll def be using keyman over MKLC just because it's a much stronger program with better abilities.

laughing my ass off at the thought of the Sarek family. Sarek is one of the UFP's top diplomats. he marries Amanda, a human, which makes a lot of the worst kinds of people very upset. they have three (3) children: Sybok, Amanda's stepson from Sarek knocking up a Vulcan princess; Spock, their one-of-a-kind hybrid baby; and Michael, the severely traumatized human girl Sarek brought home from work one day. racist hate groups try to blow him and his family up multiple times. he seems way more bothered by Michael & Spock running off to join Starfleet than by his oldest becoming an anti-establishment criminal mastermind. and then there's that one novel where Amanda tells the press he has a huge cock.

Michael becomes Starfleet's first ever mutineer, saves the Federation from a war many people think was her fault and then vanishes under mysterious circumstances in a highly classified incident involving a rogue AI, an experimental starship and several tachyon bursts that appeared across the galaxy like a sign from god

Sybok adopts a 2edgy4u fake name and hooks up with a hot space pirate for awhile, then finds religion and starts his own cult. he takes an entire colonial government hostage, sparking a diplomatic incident between three major superpowers, all so he can hijack his half-brother's ship to the galactic core to look for the Vulcan Garden of Eden, where he dies fighting god himself

Spock becomes so famous his arranged marriage falls apart, resulting in him publicly strangling his own captain to death (though this turns out to not be the case), invents time travel, saves Earth a few times, dies and comes back to life, negotiates peace with the Klingons, disappears for a bit and reappears on Romulus (heart of the most paranoid totalitarian state in the quadrant) doing extremely dangerous activist work to unify their two peoples who have hated each other for over a thousand years (and it eventually works, even if he isn't around to see it). then he flies off with the Vulcan Science Academy's high-speed prototype starship full of the most dangerous substance known to science, creates a black hole and gets sucked into it, never to be seen again

I just know that someone, somewhere in Star Trek universe, has definitely made a doozy of a documentary about them

god i love this moment. i love sisko. he so clearly is thinking “one girl’s life IS worth more than eight life times of knowledge and experience.” like this guy could not have said a worse thing to sisko in order to plead his case. not only does it expose exactly how he wants a joining for all the wrong reasons, assuming it’s about power and being someone “better” rather than simply “different.”

sisko has already had this great moment of defending not just jadzia dax but jadzia alone, and his goodness in being able to see both their singular values, his ease in respecting both creatures in all the ways jadzia dax and jadzia are the same and not, and how frickin noble he is!! i just!!

i also think this is what jadzia dax and sisko have most in common. this sort of honor-ability. sisko grows to respect jadzia specifically when she protect’s curzon’s previous lover. and then sisko protects jadzia in a way that implies he think more of her than simply the worm once joined to his dear friend. i love them.
