FUN FACT!

IT WASN’T JUST ANY OLD DUDE WHO DECIDED, “HEY I WANT TO CREATE A KOREAN ALPHABET.”

IT WAS KING SEJONG, WHO ORDERED HIS ROYAL SCHOLARS TO CREATE THIS ALPHABET SO READING AND WRITING COULD BE ACCESSIBLE TO EVERYONE, EVEN THE PEASANTS. IT WAS PURPOSELY DESIGNED TO BE EASY TO LEARN.

SO SHOUT OUT TO KING SEJONG, WHO REALIZED BEFORE MANY OTHERS THE IMPORTANCE OF UNIVERSAL LITERACY.

YOU GO KING SEJONG, FOUR FOR YOU KING SEJONG

Okay for the Bakubowl thing: Who do you think would confess first? Or in a no confessions cenario who you think he would be the most suspicious about?

My favorite bakubowl Situation is when like, at least half the class has been openly crushing on Katsuki for several months and he has Not Even One Single Clue. It’s fun when they’re being competitive/jealous about it, but it’s even more fun when they’re not. Nobody’s even trying to “beat” anyone else for Katsuki’s affections, they’re all just so fucking tired and want him to figure out that at least one of them has a crush on him.

Katsuki has Literally No Suspicions. Romance is Not On His Mind, and he just doesn’t consider people might be crushing on him.

I’d like to think that Shinsou joins class 1-A, and within a week of figuring out that so many people’s got a crush, and also kinda developing one of his own, he just like.... Asks Katsuki flat out if he’s Aware half the class is crushing on him, and Katsuki is like they’re WHAT???

For the fake fic title thing... "For all it’s worth (I’d still stick with you)"

For All It’s Worth (I’d Still Stick With You)

When Katsuki agreed to infiltrate a dangerous organization by pretending to become a villain himself, he had lots of situations he prepared for. He prepared himself for getting exposed as a double agent. For having his loved ones put at risk. For having to fight his classmates, or having some of them try to win him back.

He wasn’t prepared for over half his fucking class and the two idiots from his remedial courses to follow him, all having made up their minds to join him in villainy.

Honestly, Katsuki isn’t sure if he’s more touched that all of them are so loyal to him, or pissed that they ruined his mission. On second thought, nope, he actually is sure. He’s pissed as fuck at these morons.

Aizawa isn’t surprised, but he is still disappointed. All-Might isn’t sure if he should be worried that it only took Izuku a day to decide to follow Katsuki in becoming a villain, or just happy that at least Izuku took a day to think it over. Shouto just heard Katsuki say the word ‘villain’ and he was not only packing his bags, but also inviting friends from another school to come with him.

Avatar

Additions to this:

  • Yes the friends are Inasa and Camie. Yes both of them decided to become villains because Shouto told them Katsuki had and invited them to follow.
  • The group he’s infiltrating is not the league of villains. That’s important.
  • Aizawa was the only teacher aware Katsuki was going on this mission. He said it was a bad idea from the start, so he just tiredly watched this disaster unfold.
  • Class members that followed him (in order):
  • Shouto (literally just heard Katsuki say "I'm becoming a villain" and he was instantly on board. He didn't even need to ask any questions. He went straight from seeing that to packing his bags & texting his siblings to let them know the good news)
  • Kirishima & Mina got the Bakusquad on board and they followed after Shouto. Sero was kinda aware that Katsuki hadn’t actually gone villain, because he has common sense, but he went along with it to keep an eye on them.
  • Uraraka had already made up her mind to go after the Bakusquad left, but waited for Izuku to make up his mind. Izuku took about 12 hours after that to make sure that this was actually Katsuki acting out of his own free will before following him.
  • Uraraka/Iida/Tsuyu went with him, and after hearing Izuku got on board with it, the rest of the class (minus the below) were gone within a few hours.
  • Class members that did not follow him:
  • Momo (guessed he was going undercover because she’s smart),
  • Jirou (assumed he was going undercover because she has common sense, figured if it turned out to be legit she could act as a spy)
  • Kouda (wanted to go, was too shy to)
  • Shinsou (seriously debated it, but couldn’t bring himself to become a villain given his prior trauma or leave behind Aizawa/Mic/Eri)
  • Obviously, this ruined Katsuki's infiltration effort because like 20 teenagers showed up wanting to also join this gang and he had to get them out of there in a huge clusterfuck.
  • He was very disappointed in all of them.
  • (and also maybe a little bit touched that so many of them trusted him enough to follow him on this awful path. the whole mission left a sour taste in his mouth & awoke old insecurities about always being seen as a villain. Even though he tried to act like it wasn't weighing on him, it was spurring on awful voices in the back of his head. At least until his morons showed up)
  • The only good news to come out of the whole mess, is about 24 hours after Katsuki's mission has ‘gone wrong’ and he's pulled out, but before it's publicly revealed that it was a mission/fake, Shigaraki / the PLF came by to just fucking destroy the other gang because Shigaraki got jealous.
  • Listen, Shigaraki did not arrange an entire team to kidnap that child just for him to finally decide he wants to be a villain ages later and then go join some other gang.
  • Technically mission accomplished?

Actually, related to the last post and what we were talking about in the server, please also consider Oblivious!Katsuki who ends up wearing crop tops around the dorms because he's touch starved and likes when other people accidentally brush his skin or he ends up in casual contact with someone. He doesn't realize he's touch starved, he's just subconsciously looking for that skin to to skin contact and it's slowly killing all his classmates who Want To Touch But Don't Dare.

Avatar

oh my god yes,,,, Yes ,,,,

the first time someone (probably eijirou) brushes past him accidentally his knee-jerk reaction is to yell, but immediately afterward he's like "wait Fuck that felt kinda nice"

he wears them more and more often, wanting more contact but not really fully aware, and not realising how much stress he's putting the class under.

the first one to finally snap is shouto, obviously, because the kid is socially stunted and has no grasp of socially acceptable behaviour. he sees katsuki cooking in the kitchen in a crop top one day, and his brain is like "hey bakugou's waist sure is small haha" and next thing shouto knows he's got his hands wrapped around it. katsuki jumps, and shouto immediately prepares to die, but is pleasantly surprised by the lack of pain that follows. instead, katsuki just turns a little red and keeps cooking, not saying a word about the fact that shouto's hands are still around his waist.

the class takes this as their cue to go all out, and it turns into a free-for-all after that. tooru pushing past katsuki with a deliberate hand to the back, hanta helping katsuki reach a container in a high-up shelf by literally just picking him up, etc.

the class probably develops somewhat of a pavlov reaction to it, because they start associating crop tops with katsuki being particularly open to cuddles or affection. this isn't an issue until one day when they're caught by some paparazzi on the way back from a class lunch outing and katsuki is sporting a slightly cropped hoodie. without realising, ochako absent-mindedly wraps her arms around katsuki's waist from behind as she answers a question from a reporter. the class is so used to it that they don't even notice, but it's plastered all over social media by the next day. they get a huge lecture from aizawa about handling the media after that, and katsuki is prohibited from wearing crop tops outdoors.

Avatar

yes!!

After the Great Crop Top Ban of whatever year this is, I’d imagine that two things happen.

1) Katsuki gets more careful about only wearing crop tops in situations where he is comfortable and ready for physical affection. Making it a very open cue to his classmates.

And relatedly

2) Because the crop top become the universal Katsuki-needs/wants-affection sign and it’s acknowledged throughout the whole class, the pavlov reaction gets 100x stronger.

Which is fine, Katsuki does get more careful about wearing them. Until one day he’s out in the field with a bunch of his classmates, helping out with a rescue or something, and the lower part of his shirt gets badly ripped up. He ends up just cutting off the shreds so they don’t get caught on stuff, leaving him effectively in a crop top as they’re wrapping up.

He doesn’t even think about the implications until Kirishima walks up behind him and instinctively wraps him up in a bear hug. From that moment on it’s just Katsuki torn between Frustrated and Honestly Enjoying The Attention as his classmates literally can’t keep their hands off him for 5 seconds.

Maybe Denki or Jirou has to give him their jacket so everyone can actually focus on finishing the clean up. Katsuki then absolutely refuses to explain why he’s wearing one of his classmate’s jackets because he has No Words For This Bullshit.

not to be shouto or anything but if you think about it, shinsou’s quirk is a logical mix of voice + erasure.

if you break brainwash down it’s just loss of control activated by voice. and as we’ve seen in canon, shinsou’s primary use of his quirk in battle is literally using it like erasure–using it to disable his opponent’s use of their quirk (as well as… the rest of them). as far as i can think, shinsou’s quirk is the only other voice activated quirk besides 1. shin nemoto’s quirk (the truth telling one) and 2. mic’s. unless you count la brava’s who CAN be actived by voice but doesn’t have to.

so an argument could be made that shinsou’s quirk is just a stronger more involved version of aizawa’s quirk mixed with mic’s quirk. and like i said i’m not trying to be shouto here but you know where i’m going with this.

I see your ‘Shinsou is erasermic’s secret love child’ and I raised you, Shinsou is the result of a one night stand between Nemoto and Aizawa. Evidence:

  • Nemoto’s quirk is closer to brainwash than any other quirk we’ve seen, it requires him to speak and then allows him to force the other person to tell the truth. It could be a form of mind control depending on how you count it.
  • Nemoto’s hair is kinda spiky/sprony, add that to Aizawa’s hair floating and you get Shinsou
  • Assuming Nemoto was the one to actually have Shinsou, he was uninterested in raising a child so he gave Shinsou up and never told Aizawa about him. Aizawa is unaware he has a son as a result but still feels drawn towards Shinsou when he meets him.
  • If Shinsou was aware he had villain parent somehow, like idk Nemoto bothered to fill out paperwork when giving him up and later the police asked if he’d had any contact, then Shinsou being associated with villains / hating that association makes even more sense.
Avatar

i

i mean

you make some valid points

Have thought it over further, I’ve decided on how this would work, at least roughly:

  • We push the ages ever so slightly for Aizawa and Shinsou. Nemoto has no canonical age, so he can be like 2 years old than Aizawa.
  • Mic dragged Aizawa to a house party when they were teenagers, Nemoto happened to be there too.
  • Nemoto is trans, but he had only just realized it at the time, and hadn’t decided on making a physical transition yet.
  • Aizawa and Nemoto both got very drunk and ended up sleeping together. So drunk that the morning after, Aizawa barely even remembered it happened. They didn’t even wake up together.
  • Nemoto never even got Aizawa’s name, let alone learned much about him.
  • Cut to a few months later, Nemoto finds out he’s pregnant. He has to debate it for awhile, but can’t bring himself to terminate the baby. Still, he’s aware that he’s in absolutely no place to be a parent. He doesn’t want to be one either.
  • He gives up Shinsou right after he’s born. He does fill out the paperwork, and he leaves his own name so if health issues or something come up, Shinsou could find him in the future. He gives Shinsou a brand new last name, with a note left behind telling him to make them his own.
  • Nemoto never tries to contact Aizawa about any of this. He has no chance of finding him again, and since he doesn’t plan on keeping the kid, it shouldn’t matter.
  • Shinsou grows up between orphanages and foster care. It gets a bit harder after his quirk develops, but only gets rough after Nemoto becomes a proper villain.
  • Police come to talk to him, very suspect, asking who he’s had contact with and even watching him for periods before they finally determine Nemoto really did leave him behind and has no interest in him. Shinsou’s file gets big red warnings stamped on it and his options dwindle as a result.
  • Even his teachers at school are given a warning about it, and while they’re supposed to keep it silent, few of them do. Shinsou becomes known as a villain kid, no matter how hard he tries. Nobody in any of his classes trust him or want to be near him.
  • UA is the first school he attends where confidential shit is kept actually confidential. It’s a drastic change for him. The school is well aware that he has nothing to do with his birth parent, and they don’t let it change how they treat him.
  • Shinsou asks Aizawa on their third day of training together if he knows about his villain heritage. Aizawa confirms that he does, but says it doesn’t mean anything. Shinsou is not guilty for having been born.
  • After Nemoto is arrested, Shinsou finds he can breath easier. The warning on his file is lightened, and that means he might be able to switch out of his current foster home. It’s gotten easier since the dorms came around, but his situation still sucks.
  • Around this same time, Aizawa has gotten licensed as a sort of foster parent so he could help take care of Eri. Since he’s got the license, and he’s talked it over with Mic, he decides to see about taking Shinsou on himself.
  • Before he talks to Shinsou about it though, he wants to make sure it’s possible. The paperwork is fucking complicated, particularly considering that Aizawa and Mic are both pro-heroes which is a high risk career.
  • During the middle of all this paperwork, Aizawa gets hit by a radiation quirk and as a result he needs a bone marrow transplant and he needs one pretty fast.
  • His entire class, Shinsou include, jump to get themselves tested for donation (I know the limit is 18 but I’m pretending it’s 16 for Plot). Most of them won’t work, but Shinsou ends up being an amazing match.
  • Aizawa reluctantly accepts Shinsou as his donor after he’s assured by several doctors that it’s a safe procedure for Shinsou and won’t put him at risk.
  • The entire donation process, the two of them keep getting mistake for a parent and child by the doctors. It’s annoying to correct people, and neither of them is exactly sure why until one nurse bothers to explain.
  • Turns out Aizawa & Shinsou aren’t just a good match, but their quirks are also heavily related. It’s good because that’s ideal for donors, but also strange since the two of them are insisting they’re unrelated. Quirk types matching up outside of family members is extremely rare.
  • After Aizawa recovers, he and Shinsou are both somewhat curious about that. Shinsou admit he doesn’t know who his other parent was, Nemoto wrote that he had no memory of them, so it’s possible that the two of them are somehow related through an unknown cousin or something.
  • They decided to take a DNA test to check, it takes a few days for the results to come in.
  • Aizawa opens up the letter for the test he did more out of curiosity than anything else and sees the words ‘Biological father’ staring back at him.
  • He goes through a lot of emotions in that moment. Confusion. Guilt. Feeling lied to. Disbelief.
  • And then he remembers literally the only time he hooked up in his teenage years. A time point that would line up with Shinsou’s age.
  • Mic walks in to find Aizawa staring at the letter blankly.
  • “So? Are you two secret cousins or something?”
  • Aizawa is silent for several more seconds before he finally speaks.
  • “Well, the good news is the adoption process just got a whole lot easier.”

AU where Enji is actually a great parent, he loves all his children equally and completely. He has a wonderful very loving relationship with Rei, and all their children came from love & them wanting a big family.

But basically everyone else is lowkey convinced that Enji’s a dick to his family.

Class 1-A is trying so hard to unlock Shouto’s tragic backstory, and Shouto’s so confused. Like, okay, sure, the scar on his face is a bit weird but his mom just fell. It was an accident. It happens. Why does everyone keep looking at him like that?

Touya / Dabi still has his scars too due to getting sick and losing control of his quirk as a child, although they’re better healed & taken care he still went for the ‘lost a fight with a staple’ aesthetic. People keep assuming he’s a villain and he accidentally joins the LOV without realizing it’s a villain group.

Additions/explanations:

  • Shouto is still nervous about using his fire at the start of the series. It’s because of Touya’s accident and because 4/5 of his family members are weak to fire.
  • He talked to his dad about it, and Enji told him it was just fine if he wanted to only use his ice, or wait until he was more confident to use his fire.
  • All of the Todorokis have training on how to fight, ranging from Shouto who spent his childhood following his dad like a duckling to learn everything there is to know about being a hero, to Natsuo who reluctantly learned self defense but that’s about it.
  • Fuyumi & Touya both learned a lot about fighting and using their quirks in combat for the fun of it. Fuyumi is still a primary school teacher.
  • Rei has to take trips to the hospital regularly due to various health issues. Her conditions are manageable, and she’s doing well, but the regular treatments are still important.
  • Enji refuses to talk about his wife, her trips to the hospital, or any of his children publicly (unless it’s a rather large event that happened publicly). This is because he cares about his family’s privacy. He refuses to let the media ruin that.
  • The media spitefully assumes his secretiveness is because he has something to hide. But no, he just wants his family to live normal, safe lives.
  • Touya is still figuring out what he wants to be and do with his life, and that’s all fine.
  • One thing he does like to do is lean into the whole ‘omg he’s a villain!’ thing, since he thinks it’s funny.
  • He regularly does work or volunteers as a villain actor for hero training exercises/tests. It’s a fun excuse for him to let his quirk run wild and get nice and dressed up, and since he knows a lot about hero training he’s able to give very effective feedback and set ups.
  • He’s even got a fake villain name and backstory! He’s very professional!
  • The unfortunate side effect of this, is often when villain recruiters like Giran are looking for fresh blood, they disguise their ads as looking for ‘villain actors’
  • Touya has accidentally signed up for Real Villain Groups like 3 times now.
  • Before he always figure it out early on, and just left, but when he joins the League of Villains thinking they’re a group of villain actors, he’d also heard from Shouto that he was doing a ‘training camp’ and grumbling about how the teachers like to pull surprises on them.
  • What’s a better surprise than a fake kidnapping attempt?
  • Shouto sees him towards the end and suddenly gets really confused about whether this is real or not, was this entire thing really just a test? It didn’t feel like a test?
  • After determining this was not, in fact, a test, Shouto texts Fuyumi and asks her to yell at Touya for him.
  • Fuyumi just calls him and is like “dude, that was Not a Fake Villain Group.”
  • Honestly Touya was starting to get suspicious when they didn’t get feedback forms to fill out right away, but he wasn’t sure if the rescue was supposed to be a part of the activity too.
  • He gets that call from Fuyumi and is just like “aw, fuck, not again.”
  • Touya just,,,, takes Katsuki and leaves. Goes home. Calls his dad and is like “yeah, okay, sorry I thought this was a training thing again. they’re over here.”
  • He assumes that will be the end of it. Unfortunately, most of the league of villains escapes and they’re still convinced he’s one of them and just being held hostage no matter how many times he tells them it was misunderstanding.
  • Touya is so tired.

but!

if you’ve been a victim of domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking, you can enroll into the address confidentiality program (free of cost!) and be registered to vote as an absentee voter and your name and address will not be made available for the public

it is super easy to get enrolled - the application takes like 5 minutes, but it has to be with someone who is certified to do it (most likely an advocate! try going to a family justice center in your area or calling the Attorney Generals office in your area!!!!)

ALSO :

you don’t need to have any police reports or have a protection order to qualify!!! you just have to sign stating that you’ve been a victim of one of the aforementioned crimes.

the longer I'm parenting-aged the more I realize how disciplinary oriented parenting styles are significantly more deranged than initially assumed

“Why are kids’ cartoons these days so political?” like, are you imagining there was ever a time when children’s media wasn’t nakedly political?

Seriously, if you think cartoons were apolitical when you were a kid, it’s either because a. you haven’t watched them since you were ten years old and you don’t remember how blatant the messaging was, or b. you’ve so thoroughly internalised whatever it is they were selling that it doesn’t register anymore.

(Well, that, or you’re using “politics” as a code-phrase for “gay characters existing”.)

so yeah, I had an idea of comic in mind for a while now, and I thought Pride Month would be a good time to make it and post it. A little reminder for those who have had a bad experience about their coming-out that you’re not alone, and more importantly, it’s gonna be okay. It’s always scary to come-out, and sometimes it can go wrong, but you’ll be able to get over it one day. You’re all so strong, I love you <3

(PS : I think that’s obvious, but if any of you insults my mom, I’ll find you and I’ll kick your nasty ass. Yes, she was wrong to pressure me into coming-out to my father, but it doesn’t give you the right to be rude at her.)

on the first day of classes professors will usually ask us to fill out a little notecard with our name, pronouns, major, and email. one dude in one of my history classes was very clearly one of those Anti-SJW Bullshit People and went “Uhhh pronouns? Ha, what’s that supposed to mean? I’m clearly a dude I don’t understand what you’re asking” and the professor just looked him in the eye and went “If you don’t know what a pronoun is then maybe a college level course isn’t for you” and i think about her every single day of my life
