Not really a theory but would it make sense if team chaos is going to win no matter what happens during splatfest? Like how people were saying that Callie losing was inevitable (for the splatoon 2 plot) Because it would make more sense for the main lore of the third splatoon game to be about salmonids since there isn’t too much to know about them and their environment unlike octo expansion and the octarians in general

I do believe they would have changed the story to fit Marie’s personality more if she had lost that splatfest. Also I think they have two possibilities for a story in mind before the last splatfest but doesn't start development until they see the winner of the final splatfest.I mean the next game s most likely going to be more about the salmons since...

@jallade : This is an interesting theory , but i feel like if he was going to destroy something it would be more than just the inklings , because he advertise his business everywhere! even octo canyon. Maybe he wants WORLD domination. You might be on to something. Because i cannot think of anything else he could be using the eggs for. The fact that we , everyone in splatoon , help him without knowing much about him is pretty weird...

Personal headcanon of mine is that a inkling [or octoling] cannot respawn unless there is a respawn point near by. In places such as Salmon run you do not respawn and need your teammate to ink you to respawn. my only idea is because theres no spawn point installed in places like that. so it would make sense for a point to be in the training room or in the square! even if you glitch out of bounds! which is interesting. What i really want to know is who was the newer spawn points made by… this post is interesting

Also forgive me for not actually answering the question! I think the spawn point works like their souls fly to it to get more ink to remake up their mass so they can splat on! I also believe the closest they are to DEATH is when they dont have enough ink to remake up their mass, Like when die on salmon run and your soul is in your inner tube trying to go back into the ink puddle but obv failing. This also happen when you splat the octo samurai!

There was once a theory about the octolings in the octo expansion [before it was release] that the octolings were different from the ones in hero mode, people pointed out things like “One of their ears is round and one is smooth they must not be normal octolings” and it really peeved me because no duh the PLAYER octolings are different from the NPC ones. I was happy when it was debunked. If anyone have the link to that old thing please post.

I feel like the new salmon run stage add a lot to the lore , first off we can tell how different it is from the other salmon stages , as it doesn't have the usual background aesthetics of giant food and silverware , it take place off the coast rather than just the middle of nowhere like the other stages , "Active bear area" that's ... Something , the space ship in the background... The stage it self look like it too can be part of that rocket... I'm excited about it! What you guys think?

That makes plenty of sense too! That would cause her to be a bit more chubby than Callie.

Splatoon2 hero mode would be so different if Marie lost, Like thinking about the fact Callie helped redecorate octovalley and made it sparkly and made some weird bosses, like seriously callie why would you nerf the poor octosamurai by making him ride a small unicycle? I wonder how Marie would had redecorated or what kind of bosses would she make. Their personalities are so different so would octo valley look completely different? Bonus

Thinking about Bisk’s story lately like he broke up with his girlfriend to pursue his musical career yet he sells shoes? Like did it work out for him? did he have to give up his dreams? The little music sheet on the sunken scroll actually plays in the background music at his store

ALSO why did he have to break up with her in the first place? Maybe much like Sean he’ll have a different role on a different splatoon game but i really hope he makes music!

Something to think about

Splatfests can be based off of real life things because in canon splatoon lore the fax machine was programmed a LOT of years ago with random choices to be found in the future and the squids used it to ... make splatfests for years THAT being said. How does Mr. Grizz have gear based off real companies all of the Grizzco rewards are based off jobs and working. and boot leg hero mode merch.... doesn’t add up
