Dangers of being alone and autistic

As someone who’s autistic, it’s very dangerous to go out by myself. I’m pretty visibly autistic. I stim, I look at the ground when I walk, I use aac, and I just am visibly “odd” or autistic. This itself is dangerous. People can and will try to attack you. I’ve had multiple instances of people yelling at me on the street. I’m very lucky to be able to go to a few places in my very small town by myself, however these places are maybe a five minute walk from my house and I’ve done the route about five hundred times. I do rarely now go because I’m afraid of having a meltdown in public as my meltdowns have become more frequent.

Being alone as an autistic person is dangerous in general. People stare, people point at me, people baby me. In general it isn’t a good time. I have people all the time ask me why I don’t go out by myself, or why I can’t. And one of the reasons is simple, it’s dangerous.
