Terminology reminder: reblogging is Tumblr’s in-site sharing system but REPOSTING is saving a picture from a post and then making your own post
I have seen genuine confusion about this in the past (largely from ppl more used to other sites that don’t have a reblog system) that’s the only reason I’m adding the explanation
I’ve been seeing an uptick in reposted gifs and fanart lately, and it’s really frustrating.
Please remember that simply saying “unknown artist”, “credit to the original artist”, “not mine”, “found on Pinterest ”, etc. is NOT credit! You’re still stealing someone else’s work! It takes only a few seconds to do a reverse image search to find the original source, but if for some reason you can’t find the original, please do not use this as an excuse to repost anyway.
Artists work hard and most of them do it entirely out of love, for free. They at least deserve the respect of getting credit and acknowledgement for their work.
