when people talk about cop propaganda and other people are like “no! the characters in my favorite cop show are diverse and sympathetic and not racist at all!” great observation that’s why it’s cop propaganda

Waiting for people to fuck up so you can cancel them, gatekeeping, communities self-policing to the point of self-destruction, debating each other's validity, communities infighting over terminology, fighting over the Best way to exist, trying to define what a Bad Community Member is/does, vilifying those people.

Besties I think we fucked up and internalized the surveillance state or the omni-present judgment of god or purity culture or perhaps just maybe all 3

kill the cop inside your head

My dad and I once had a disagreement over him using the adage "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger."

I said, "That's just not true. Sometimes what doesn't kill you leaves you brittle and injured or traumatized."

He stopped and thought about that for a while. He came back later, and said, "It's like wood glue."

He pointed to my bookshelf, which he helped me salvage a while ago. He said, "Do you remember how I explained that, once we used the wood glue on them, the shelves would actually be stronger than they were before they broke?"

I did.

"But before we used the wood glue, those shelves were broken. They couldn't hold up shit. If you had put books on them, they would have collapsed. And that wood glue had to set awhile. If we put anything on them too early, they would have collapsed just the same as if we'd never fixed them at all. You've got to give these things time to set."

It sounded like a pretty good metaphor to me, but one thing I did pick up on was that whatever broke those shelves, that's not the thing that made them stronger. That just broke them. It was being fixed that made them stronger. It was the glue.

So my dad and I agreed, what doesn't kill you doesn't actually make you stronger, but healing does. And if you feel like healing hasn't made you stronger than you were before, you're probably not done healing. You've got to give these things time to set.

September 22 2020 - A Hillsboro man convicted to 6 months for drug possession managed to make his escape from the courthouse. A cop trying to stop him gave himself broken ribs and a concussion and had to be taken to hospital, while the hero of our story managed a clean getaway and is still on the loose. [video]

I’ve watched this over and over again and I laugh every time

I’m still trying to figure out what he was hoping to achieve by diving headfirst over the banister like that.

Bold of you to assume cops have any thought process other than “im a cool action hero”

Rolling down the stairs like a fucking slab of ham lmao

Every single time I see this I’m reminded of that husky that had never seen stairs before

Whenever I see that gif my head just plays Nicki Minaj’s “Nuh, nuh, nuh, na-nuh-na-nuh-nuh Ah-huh di-duh, a-nuh-di-da-duh”

Pigs still cannot fly confirmed

Everyone on twitter is arguing against the terfs demonizing phalloplasty and top surgery by saying the scars fade and the flesh regrows over time, but has anyone considered that scars are cool and having huge, discolored, incredibly noticeable scars is based

scarification did not emerge as a beautifying & spiritual practice across the most varied human cultures for you clowns to go "scars are yucky", you absolute fools

Did you know magenta is a color we see that isn't actually real?

Each color we see cept magenta has a wave length that our brains perceive as that color. But magenta does not have its own wavelength and I think that's wild.

“Let us put it generally: if a regime is immoral, its citizens are free from all obligations to it.” – Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, Gulag Archipelago.

[Pictured: Captain Pia Klemp sitting in a chair beside her controls.

@VivianAngrisani on Twitter wrote on 6/8/2019: “Pia Klemp, a German biologist & boat captain faces 20 yrs in prison for rescuing 1,000+ migrants at risk of drowning whilst crossing the Mediterranean. Seeking asylum is a human right. Only 1 in 100 sea captains are female. This woman is a humanitarian, not a criminal. #FreePia”

@Galactic_Rabbit quote-tweeted on 6/10/2019 and wrote: “Thinking about all those videos of people honored in their old age for hiding/protecting Jewish people.”]

To all the people commenting that she’s an accessory to “illegal immigration,” note that seeking asylum is a human right. Countries which refuse asylum are in violation of the Geneva Convention. They get away with this and propagandize complacency towards the victims by using bureaucracy to complicate immigration proceedings. During times of genocide, this is tantamount to hearing a would-be murder victim knocking on your door and locking the deadbolt.

People who risk dying getting smuggled across borders do so out of sheer desperation because the situation they’re leaving is worse. Finally, you are missing the entire point: violation of the law is warranted when the laws violate human rights and criminalize existence. Laws which call immigrants “illegal” are tools of a systemic negligence designed to condemn those who need legal protection the most.

i want to see old men with full beards learning ballet and i want to see terrible art from people in their 30s who have only just got their first tablet and i want to see mothers picking up their old hobbies from before they were told it wasn’t okay to have hobbies and i want to see people in their early 20s figuring out how to be alive by making bad music in their bedrooms and i want zines to be handmade paper pamphlets of devotion and i want creation to be fun again instead of a competition where we all have to monetise joy until we lose the invaluable currency of unashamed love again
