@sophibeans

Name: Sophie. Nickname: Bean. Skills: Math and Puns. (She/her, mid 20s)

at times when hope is too big of a thing to have, curiosity (even clinical or small) is a very good placeholder

asking myself "why continue" & finding the answer is always, in some form, "i want to know what happens next", even if that want is tired or detached or outright morbid

I'm scheduled to be executed by tiring squad tomorrow. big group of socially outgoing guys with loud voices are gonna trap me in conversations and make me do tricks until I wear myself out, and then I will go to bed and sleep so soundly that I never wake up again

giving cis men fashion advice: you should definitely grow your hair out longer and take estrogen king it will make to look so masculine and manly and shit *holding cat ears behind my back*

my cis male followers can feel free to come into my inbox for advice any time i have zero ulterior motives ^_^

i think if a cis guy comes to a trans girl unsolicited for advice they're probably hoping at least a little bit for us to tell them this

Clear Skies Ahead: A Novel

Hi! I wrote a book about a twentysomething burnout henshin hero using their secret identity and homemade power suit to explore their gender and pay the bills through social media! Now I’m posting it online! You can read it at this link!

Synopsis:

When early-20s burnout Alice tries to track down the local Portland superheroine Sky Horizon, she finds out that the heroine's true identity is none other than her old classmate Oliver, another early-20s burnout who uses the transformation to volunteer and survives off his Patreon. As he sheepishly explains, he designed the suit after his favorite tokusatsu superhero shows like Kamen Rider or Power Rangers.

When the suit's design gets leaked, however, he'll have to fight in earnest to keep his creation out of unscrupulous hands, and confront parts of himself he didn't think he was strong enough to face.

A YA-ish superhero story about shame, about responsibility, about how loving an idea enough is all you need to make it real.

I update every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday, and a little under half of the story is already published- give it a look!

i came up with this idea when i was very sleep deprived and i then spent like 30 minutes intermittently blowing on my screen. i was very entertained, at one point i laughed so hard i almost lost my voice. i figured that this was just a symptom of being very easily amused due to my condition but now that im awake again i see that this is easily the best post ive ever made. i have peaked, i will never post anything this good again. fffffffffffffffff. ffffffffffff. ffffffffffffffffffff. ffffffffffffffffffffffffff

we hunt the mighty pasta BEAST

and breadsticks are its BONES

ALFREDO FLOWS inside its veins

its organs are CALZONES

LASAGNA plates its armored hide

and should the hero dare

you'll find the noisome Jaws are strung

with garlic angel hair

The poem is written in common hymn meter (alternating lines of 8 and 6 syllables, usually iambs), so there are many possible tunes you can use to sing it:

  • Amazing Grace
  • Pokemon theme song
  • Gilligan's Island theme
  • House of the Rising Sun
  • O Little Town of Bethlehem
  • Joy to the World

Feel free to add any favorites!

Playing The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog without having any context for who the characters are is such an emotional rollercoaster. 90% of my Sonic knowledge came from cultural osmosis and an anime I watched as a child, and now I'm being introduced to these characters at a birthday party and they're all insane. The lizard is a ninja who can read my mind, the cat is a princess from another dimension, and the bat just tried to rob me.
