Fairy Tail

@song-of-fairies

& whatever other anime I am currently into, aside from Hetalia. That hell has its own blog. On ao3 as PadawanMaxineKenobi

I just saw a fanfic author on tiktok advertising their fic like booktok does and peace and love but friend. your real life actual face??? associated with your fic???

listen, as far as y'all are concerned, I am a sentient seal with access to a keyboard, and we’re leaving it at that

Fandom PSAs

Dont’ Like, Don’t Read

or DL; DR

  • You are responsible for curating your own online experience.
  • If something upsets you, makes you angry or queasy or triggers you, stop reading/looking at it. Avoid things that might make you feel that way.
  • Learn to use the Sort and Filter function on AO3, especially the Exclude tools.
  • On social media, block and mute accounts / tags / words when necessary.
  • If you hated something, you don’t need to tell that to the creator or start pointing fingers at them publicly.
  • The Back button is free. Use it.

Addendum:

Yes, for this to work, creators need to tag their works accordingly, so that people know what sort of content they are about to engage with and can nope out if necessary.

I will probably make another PSA about the importance of proper tagging later.

Ship And Let Ship

or SALS

  • You are allowed to ship whatever you want.
  • Everyone else is also allowed to ship whatever they want.
  • You are entitled to dislike or even hate a ship. If you want to do this online, in public, don’t use the ship tags for hate posts.
  • If you see someone posting about a ship they like and you don’t, there is no need for you to start arguing with them in their replies / comments / QRTs / reblogs. Don’t throw your hate in their face.
  • Do not harass fan creators or fans for shipping something you disapprove.
  • All of this also applies to liking / disliking an individual character.

Addendum:

”I agree with this, except when…”

No, then you are NOT agreeing with this.

Let me make this VERY clear. There are NO exceptions. None.

You don’t EVER harass real people over pixels.

If you disagree with this, kindly block and move on.

Your Kink Is Not My Kink

or YKINMK / YKINMKATO

  • The longer version is ”Your Kink Is Not My Kink And That’s Okay”.
  • People have different tastes. Not everything is for everybody.
  • Even if you don’t like a specific kink, other people are still allowed to use it in their creations.
  • You are entitled to dislike kinky content and think that it’s ”weird”.
  • Don’t kink shame or judge people based on their kinks.
  • This goes both ways: your kink is not someone else’s kink, so don’t push it onto those who are not into it.

Be Kind

or Don’t Be An Asshole

  • Focus on the things you like instead of the things you hate.
  • Create and unite instead of destroying and dividing.
  • Don’t harass real people over fictional things.
  • Stop stirring up petty drama just to get some attention on social media.
  • Stop trying to ”win”. Fandom is not a competition.
  • Remember that your own experiences aren’t universally shared. Your perception of things can differ from someone else’s, but that doesn’t mean either of you is necessarily wrong.

The real reason Gray and Natsu didn’t get along is because Gray has mommy issues (Ur’s death) and Natsu has daddy issues (Igneel’s disappearance).

Lucy has both mommy and daddy issues and Erza was an orphan, so the team stayed balanced.

Erza discovering she actually has major mommy issues (Irene) is what really killed Natsu, because it ruined the balance. Lucy’s keeping him alive through the power of her own daddy issues, which happen to be strong enough to sustain him.

Ok it’s a poll it’s not that serious but there is something funny about the non-writers voting the most and not reblogging the poll to get more results. Like that’s the most accurate representation of fic interaction on this website 💀

I've been rewatching Assassination Classroom and I've come to the conclusion that Nagisa and Karma are THE character dynamic ever. Like, there's the obvious appeal of the "which of them is more likely to kill you in cold blood" bait-and-switch, but the keyword here is "more likely", because both of them are fundamentally unhinged people who think murder-suicide is a really cool way to prove a point.

And their reactions to each other being unhinged are absolutely hysterical. Karma can act like a whole serial killer and the most Nagisa ever summons up about it is like mild concern. He sees Karma threaten to kill someone with a broken bottle and he literally does not even react. This is just completely normal for him. He always just seems vaguely surprised that anyone would actually be scared of Karma, whose hobbies include hospitalizing people.

Meanwhile, Nagisa sneaks up on Karma one (1) time, and he's like "Holy shit. He is terrifying. Like a venomous snake poised to strike. He is dangerous, I can't let my guard down around him, he could kill me", and all Nagisa did was just. Poke him in the side.

Also they are 14 years old.

Quick PSA, if you get one of those "Work scanned, AI use detected" comments on AO3, just mark them as spam.

Some moron apparently built a bot to annoy or prank hundreds of authors.

There is no scanning process, your work doesn't actually resemble AI writing, it's all bullshit. Mark the comment as spam (on AO3, not the email notification you got about the comment!) and don't let it get to you.

The spam comments have evolved.

They are now also linking to a site they claim is able to scan works and tell you whether they were AI written or not, and that you should do that before reading a fic.

It should go without saying that you should not, under no circumstances, visit a site advertised in a spam comment.

In this case, I'd say there's even a chance that the "scanning" site is actually used to scrape fics and use them for future AI writing. What it definitely doesn't do is tell you whether something was AI written or not. That's a bullshit claim.

Don't use that site. Don't believe these spam comments, whether you get them on your own works or see them on someone else's.

It's all bullshit.

I've seen a lot of fics disappear from my bookmarks, some 10+ years old, because they were added to an unrevealed collection. It makes me wonder if people realize what your fic being added to a collection actually means and if the authors approved it automatically without realizing what would happen.

If someone adds your fic to their collection, they can hide it! They can mark the collection as unrevealed and your fic will be unreadable to anyone other than them! If you're writing works for a surprise event, like a Secret Santa, this is really nice.

But if you're just writing and someone adds your fic to a collection for their own personal use and marks it as unrevealed, that. . . really sucks.

I bookmarked this fic in 2017, almost 5 years ago. Knowing me, the fic itself was probably at least a couple years old at the time I bookmarked it.

This is a 5+ year old fic that is completely inaccessible now because it was added to a collection that, as far as I can tell, is literally just for the collection owner's own reference. There's almost 30 fics in the collection, all of them unrevealed.

Please don't blindly accept collection requests and if your works ARE in a collection, make sure that they aren't being hidden without your knowledge or consent.

Are you able to remove a work from collection after you allow it or is it just a story that's just fucked?

Yes, you can remove your works! From the faq:

If you're the creator of the work:
1) Select the "Edit" button from the work's page and scroll down to the "Associations" section.
2) Select the red (×) beside the collection name you want to remove next to "Post to Collections / Challenges".
3) Select "Post" to apply the change. The work will be immediately removed from the collection.

I'm not sure if you get an alert if your fic is marked as unrevealed though, so keep an eye on the collections that your works are part of.

There's also an option in your preferences to accept collection invitations automatically. I would highly recommend making sure that that option is not selected.

I realize this might be a dirty trick pro-censorship fandom harassers might try to pull on some people, so yeah.

Boosting for visibility.

InuKagWeek Day 1- GROWTH

The cooolest thing is when they fight together, but the coolness took some time to achieve. - Throwback to when Inuyasha dropped Kagome after she missed her target in ep 2 of the anime -

🫧Bite!🫧

Lucy is just curious about Natsu’s fangs hehe. Like how did he all those meat very easily? It is fascinating. Natsu was not having it and just bit her in retaliation 😂

Fiction - by Adib Sin

"Are you with me?

Is this fiction?

I've always known you

Since the story began

Can you feel me

In these moments?

I'll keep on searching

'Til I no longer can"

What If Lucy was just an ordinary high school girl who loves stories about magic and dragons, fairies, mermaids, and princesses? The main hero in her favorite fiction story imagine came to life in her world? Is he here with her or just a fiction?

They should create a shonen with women

All women. I want all that bullshit about the power of friendship shouted by a overpowered girl main character. Homoerotic rivalry between women that aren’t about a guy they both like. Women who hit hard other women. Deadbeat mothers who abandon their family in search of something and stay at home dad that die tragically when their daughter is young and daughters who hate their deabeat mom for leaving them or look up to her and want to become like her. I think the deadbeat mom and the dead dad should be a staple of shonen with women.

I’ll allow three guys but they have to fulfill these roles

- Healer

- Guy whose power is being hot/bewitching people with his look

- Guy who’s like 67 but he’s really vain so he uses his power to look either 20ish or like a kid
