I was able to get some pictures of the front of my patchwork bag and all the bottle cap band pins I've made over time (with the decent-enough lighting provided by the bathroom). There's a bit of glare from the clear top coat, but they're more visible in real life.

Most of the pins are on my bag now, though some aren't, and some could use repositioning. I've also got my handpainted Canuck the Crow patch as well as my hand-stitched (and crocheted) Stropholos (also called Hecate's Wheel) patches pinned on too :]

Some outfit photos from somewhat recently, when there was brighter weather to take pictures. I recently made the various black crystal necklace.

I also tried out designs on my nails, I did little flowers and hearts :3 They're a little messy, but I think they turned out cute for my first time trying nail art (especially because I did them so late at night >:] )

The Jersey Devil is something that’s definitely been on my list of cryptids I’ve wanted to make, and I’ve finally been able to make them! Some interpretations are different from this one, but I went for the more horse or goat-like body shape.Β

Since the Jersey Devil has a bit more of a complicated design (to me anyway, like with the limbs and wings and stuff), I sort of put off trying to make them for a little while because I had to figure out how to make a pattern work. Luckily, I was able to make it turn out!Β

Β·β‚ŠΛš (οΎ‰^v^)οΎ‰.⋆ο½₯.*β˜†

As a general explanation, the body is made with a β€œthree piece pattern” (I did make the underside piece with two, but I don’t think I actually had to do that). There are two upper side pieces (from head to tail) and an underside piece (just legs and stomach).Β

I made the wings separately and sewed them into the back during assembly, so that when it was all flipped right side out, they would be coming out of the back seam. The horns, ears and button eyes were sewn on carefully afterwords. I made sure that the stitching on the buttons was horizontal, to look like a goat’s pupils.Β

⍋ ⍋ ⍋ ⍋ ⍋ ⍋ ⍋ ⍋ ⍋ ⍋ ⍋ ⍋ ⍋ ⍋ ⍋ ⍋ ⍋ ⍋ ⍋ ⍋ ⍋

From the front, the legs did end up looking a little too close together and the snout does look a little slimmer than I expected (and maybe kinda goofy, though I do find it endearing (ο½₯Ο‰ο½₯)), but I still love how they turned out! The Jersey Devil will be a welcome additon to my cryptid hoard! <|:^D

I know haven't really been posting much new stuff lately, I guess I'm a bit more tired from the gloomier season, but I have still been making some things :-)

I also just haven't been able to get any good pictures of the things I've been making because of the darker weather with no good natural lighting. I've made some jewellery, pouches and a few creatures as of late, so I'll hopefully be able to get some photos and share my newer crafts eventually :]

A small dark green velvet froggy I made recently. Her name is Β·β‚ŠΛšGemΛšβ‚ŠΒ· because of the jewel-toned colours (at least I think they are) I used and because she’s so small, like a little gem :3

I like the combination of dark green and and goldy-brass colours, it gives more of a β€œregal” look, so I used some floral buttons that are meant to look like antique gold or dark brass.Β

I haven’t made one of these types of frogs in a little while, especially since there are only so many colour combinations that can happen with my supply of (mostly repurposed) fabric. So it was nice to have a little bit of fabric that I’ve never used before. This crushed velvet I used is from the shoulder pads of a dress that I removed.Β

Another frog I just finished today. I had been wanting to try out making a tricolour frog, which I was going to do with this one, but I ended up getting the idea to use more of my slightly smaller pieces of fabric, to give more of a patchy appearance.Β

Because I used up a lot of scraps of fabric on this frog, I think I’ll name him β—‡β–³β—»β™‘ Scrap β™‘β—»β–³β—‡ Just a simple name that describes him well. I do really like all of the different textures of fabric I used, it makes holding them an insteresting tactile experience (β€’vβ€’)bβ˜†

I also finally tried out making a little tongue for this frog, which I had been meaning to try for quite a while with others, but kept forgetting toΒ Β―\_(ツ)_/Β―

I used two mismatched buttons for eyes, one rounded black button and one wooden button that I got from a craft fair a few years ago, I was glad I finally found a fitting project to use them on :)

This guy's still one of my favourite froggies :) <3

It seems that Grove the Toad has grown some mushrooms to go along with her moss!Β

[I made a bunch of mushrooms in the past with a knitting loom for the stems, and crocheted the caps. I recently thought of them and figured it would go well with the mossy patches on Grove. I just carefully hot glued them on. ]

Another toad!!! >:) I’ve had the idea for this design of toad for a while, but wasn’t able to get too much progress since I’ve been busy and tired with work. But I’ve finally been able to finish them up recently! Β·β‚ŠΛšβ€ \(●^β—‘^●)/ β€Λšβ‚ŠΒ·

Her name is π“Šπ“‹Όπ“Šπ“‹Όβ‹Groveβ‹π“‹Όπ“Šπ“‹Όπ“ŠΒ  I chose a forest-related name since I was trying to make them look like they’re covered in patches of moss. I used up all of the remaining scraps of that green textured fabric that I had left and hot glued them on.Β

I haven’t made a more rounded toad in a while, so I’m glad that I was able to properly make her rotund and chubby like I intended. I gave them a tongue sticking out of their mouth as well, since I like how it turned out on my last frog so much, I think it suits her face shape well Κ• vα΄₯vΚ”

This is from before I added all the mushrooms.

This is something I’ve been wanting to make for a while: cryptid patches! I’ve seen so many cool ones online, but I figured I could try make my own. I’m not quite sure what I’ll sew them on yet, but here they are!

I used mostly felt, and a couple other fabrics, I tried to avoid the ones that fray easily. I designed and cut out some simpleΒ silhouettes and shapes to build the scenes and creatures, and used mostly hot glue to attach everything.Β I also did a bit of embroidery on them, for the smaller details.Β

They’re not the most detailed work, but I’m very happy with how these turned out! :)Β

I made another patchwork tote bag with fabric scraps! >:)Β

I used up basically all the scraps I had accumulated overtime, as well as a few slightly bigger pieces I had no plans to use on anything else. I love all of the different textures and shapes, and I handsewed everything as sturdy as I could.Β Β

I also gave it an inner lining, added some bead lizard and frog keychains, as well as a couple of the bug patches I painted recently (centipede and jumping spider, just pinned on for now).

A darker outfit and a couple of green and brown outfits I wore these past few days. I wore a lot of my monochrome and spooky jewellery, as well as my foresty and warm-toned jewellery.⋆⍋*࿐༄࿔

I also found a way to actually wear my deity altar beads. Since they don't fit as actual necklaces, I can loop them around my belts. In these photos I'm wearing the beads I made for Persephone, Hades and Thanatos.

I thought I'd show some pictures of our cats! This is Moss and Clover (they also go by other names, but those are their main given names), they're brother and sister.

Moss is the winking fella with the black smokey tabby fur. He's a very affectionate big guy.

Clover is the little lady with the grey tortoiseshell fur. She's more shy, very fast and agile, and has the loudest purr (she also gets very vocal for canned wet food).

I've been interested in puppet-making in the past, but seeing as my sewing and crafting skills at the time where more simple, I decided to save that idea for later. But now, with my somewhat recent re-fascination with puppets, I'm glad to say that I finally made my first hand puppet! <:o)

This alligator is made of dark emerald green furry fabric and cardboard, partially sewn and partially hot glued. She has felt eyes and scales, a kelp green corduroy mouth, cardboard teeth and a black leather tongue.

I sewed her sweater out of a sage green weaved material (very carefully, as it frayed easily) and made her some necklaces with pretty green and black star, flower and pinwheel beads!

She also goes by Gladdy or Glad. I like to think of her as a "grandma" type of character. She cares very much for her friends will gladly do her best to keep them happy, comfy and on the right track! Though she may seem like a stick in the mud sometimes, it's because she's always looking out for her friends and has your best interests at heart! <3

She especially enjoys quilting, cooking and tending to the aquatic plants and algae in her pond garden. She loves seeing all the tiny organisms that live in and around her pond, like fairy shrimp and aquatic insects :) β™‘β™‘β™‘

Another swamp buddy! Here's:

β‹ΰΌ„ΰΏ”βœ© Earnest Amphurtle βœ©ΰΌ„ΰΏ”β‹

Sometimes she likes to be a turtle, sometimes he likes to be a frog, or both! Though we may not always know exactly what they are, we love them anyway! <3

He's made of dark olive green furry fabric and cardboard, and has a crocheted removeable shell. She's also got a crocheted multi-earth-toned shawl.

This little croaking crooner loves singing, swimming, playing jump rope and hopscotch (when they're feeling froggy), and spending time with their best friend Gladys Gator (while enjoying Gladys' delicious cooking too, of course).

Earnest is definitely the more rambunctious and adventurous one of the two, sometimes having Gladys all tied up in knots with worry!! But everything always works out in the end with everyone safe and sound at home (though not without a concerned, well-meaning earful from Gladys :] ).

The fourth (and final for now) member of the swamp pals, and my smallest hand puppet:

β€β‹†Β·β‚ŠΛšβ˜†ε½‘ Simona Snail β˜†ε½‘Λšβ‚ŠΒ·β‹†β€

She's made with light olive green fur fabric, and dark kelp green with brown for her shell. Fae's got a tan lace and green satiny neck ruffle, a ruffly bonnet, and crocheted book bag (made by Millicent Moth, of course) with some little books inside. Everything has plenty of lace and bows! ΰ¨ΰ§ <3

Simona is a librarian, she's very organized, and likes everything to be catalogued correctly and in proper place. Though she doesn't worry about overdue books or late fees, she's a slow reader faeself, so fae understands! :)

Faer hobbies include reading, bookbinding (she loves repairing and preserving old books), going on walks (very slowly), and lace making! She's a quiet and gentle soul, and prefers to take things slow and easy, always stopping to smell the roses and taking her time to enjoy every little bit of life!

She also enjoys writing, especially handwritten letters for her friends (snail mail) and poetry. Fae's quite the little author!
