So I don’t know if I’m just dumb but I just realised that the reason peter was so excited by the sound of a multiverse was because in a multiverse thanos would never of found the infinity stones so in a different multiverse somewhere Tony Stark would be alive and healthy. And the feeling of betrayal he must’ve felt in the moment he was told that there was no multiverse would’ve actually crushed him which is why he felt so emotional, because he realised that he would never have another the chance to see tony again
