like obviously hozier is an etheral man and every song he makes slaps but something about shrike just utterly breaks me. it feels ancient, like a lost poem that survived through the ages. We joke about him being an old soul, but this is why. shrike transcends time. if i could time travel to ancient ireland and i heard someone singing shrike, I’d be like “yeah this is exactly where i was meant to hear this song”.
