The older I get the more fiercely protective I get of younger girls. I was heading into work yesterday and I saw that 12 year old (I mentioned her before, the one who wore makeup) talking to this older man. She’s normally really bubbly but she looked a little more subdued talking to him so I go over and loudly say “Hey sweetheart, who’s this?” And the guys just glares at me and she says “oh um his name is Justin.” And I’m like “Hi Justin, how do you know her?” And he gets nervous and is like “I just saw her jogging and thought I’d give her pointers.” So I just kinda tilted my head and looked at him for a minute. He literally asked me “are you a cop or something? I haven’t done anything wrong.” So I took her to the McDonald’s near by, bought her something and had a talk about not talking to strangers. Low key I’m debating the next time I see her parents (they drop her off at the gym and leave her there for hours) to maybe have a talk with them or something. Idk if it’s my place tho

Just to add because some messaged me saying that I was being a nosey bitch: so a woman who used to go to my gym (and my same university. Like I used to see her at my job and on campus) actually went missing not far from my intersection (literally a 5 min walk away from the major intersection) on may 10 and they found her body literally last week (June 19). Everyone has been on high alert lately so when I saw this random dude talking to this little girl, my brain immediately went into defence panic mode. So yeah call me nosey if you want

40k is a setting that is entirely, completley, beyond any doubt NOT FOR CHILDREN. There is literally a god of murder rape that was orgied into existence. How do we explain to the 8 year olds why the dark eldar torture people relentlessly? Or what burning the heretics is? Hell even unrelated to sex the sheer level of violence is ludicrous.

I mean I got into 40k in my teens. Look at the artwork on this book, this is not being peddled to young adults, this is not even going after teens. It’s being peddled to fucking 8 year olds.

I don’t care what race or gender you are. If you want to play 40k go ahead I’m sure we’ll have a great time. I do care what age you are. So should your parents. It’s not discrimination or gatekeeping for a company to say “this isn’t appropriate for children, so I’m not going to market to them”

I mean, I’m not gonna lie, when I have kids would I want them to play with me? Yeah I’ll get them tyranids or T'au while keeping 89% of the setting hidden. It is a terrible idea to try and get kids into the universe as a whole.

Gatekeeping is when you’re an asshole to another adult and treat them differently based off their race and gender and don’t treat them like an equal in the community for not looking like you. Gatekeeping is not when you treat a kid differently because you’re an adult and a kid is not the same as you and you treat them with kid gloves (There’s a reason they call them that)

I feel like this should be viewed the same as when parents let their kids play things like grand theft auto. Nothing about any of these kinds of games is kid friendly

he’s far more open minded than anyone criticizing him for just asking about a possibility. Jesus. I forgot what we do here is reprehend people for asking questions, especially ones that are silly on the surface.

he doesn’t know enough about space (he doesn’t have to, he’s a congressman on earth. his ignorance about the universe doesn’t really interfere with his governing). at least he’s attempting to satiate his curiosity, something difficult enough without people shaming you for your ignorance.

Maybe we should start focusing on actual problems instead of nitpicking the most minute character flaws of those we tend to disagree with. The comments on this post are so disappointing and ill-conceived.

tumblr is not a healthy place. its riddled with extreme ideology, far leaning political beliefs, intensely aggressive people and emotions, and unchecked ways of thinking. Don’t buy a fucking word you read here that isn’t concrete fact. I don’t care which party/source/celebrity/aisle it’s coming from. There’s a big wide world out there, talk to people you don’t necessarily agree with in a civil manner. You might learn something.

I’m not entirely sure why Tumblr ended up the way it did but.. it’s bad. This place is great for art, inspiration, photography, memes,,,, but if you’re trying to make the world a better place, start in the world. Healthy living, happy relationships, and realistic perspectives aren’t popular around here. Stay sharp to people who have lost themselves. they’ll drag you down with them.
