terror is the feeling of going into the bathroom and not knowing if someone is going to attack you because of how you appear or how you are dressed. terror is the feeling you get when you change in the locker room, avoiding everyone’s eyesight, lest they think you were checking them out. terror is brushing up against your lovers hand in public, afraid to take it because you don’t know the people around you. terror is worrying you’re evangelical boss may find out you have a same sex partner. terror is worrying that you’ll come home to find a family member deported. terror is when you see a group walking towards you with confederate flags or “make america great again” hats, snickering that you should go back to where you came from. 

terror is a feeling that the people at Pulse last night knew all too well. that they came to Pulse to escape. the very same people who are rallying against “terrorism” right now, are the same ones who made the safe haven of Pulse a necessity. they are the same people who denied our lgbtq+ families refuge in their daily lives. know who the real terrorist are in your life. #prayforlando
