Let me start by saying that both Malleus and Silver is special to Lilia. They are both sons to Lilia and those two both love Lilia as a father figure.

Would Malleus OB have happened without him thinking so?

Now that book 7 is going on, you can see even more how much Lilia cherishes both Malleus and Silver.

Lilia saw what happened during and as a result of war. He didn’t want Malleus to suffer that. On top of that, Malleus’ father wanted peace and diplomacy. Lilia also wanted that especially after seeing the devastating results of war on both sides.

Now if Malleus’ parents passed away, it was Lilia who provided love and care for Malleus to hatch. He might have even given his magic and that’s why he’s so deficit now.

Yes, Lilia didn’t have the freedom to raise Malleus like Silver, but how could he? Malleus is the heir and had to be protected at all costs. So Lilia raised him the best he could with the values he knew are expected in a king and for peace in mind.

Yes he went on trips, but can you blame him? Ptsd and seeing reminders of those he lost would make anyone run, but he always came back to malleus and loved him.

I also love to compare the dynamic between the three as older sibling and younger sibling syndrome.

Malleus is the older brother so he got to deal with all the expectations and harsh teachings of an older sibling.

While Silver got the more gentler side, given it had to be pointed out by Malleus and the Zigvolts for Lilia to be gentler to Silver and Sebek.

In a sense, Malleus also raised Silver as an older sibling would generally do with younger siblings. When he would visit the cottage and other times he would see them.

We have also seen and heard stories about Lilia and Malleus.

How Lilia would not be scared of Malleus and he would calm him down and we know why malleus loves ice cream.

We saw the interactions between them in beans fest.

Need I mention how Lilia mentioned they were family during Halloween?

As most parents do, parents are strictest with the first child and as they learn and change with them, with the second child they are more mellow.

Lilia can’t straight up say that Malleus is his son, but I do not doubt that in his mind, he refers to him as such. He only doesn’t say it because of his best friends memories. And as we saw, lilia sucks at expressing himself.
