Remember that moment in ITSV, when Miles first meets his world's Spider-Man and their spider senses do the thing?

The background behind Peter is as we'd expect; the classic red and blue.

But at first Miles' background is green and purple, two colors he's never associated with at all throughout the movie. As the moment goes on, it shifts to match Peter's.

We are literally watching Miles' fate change and the anomaly happen.

It's well established that the spider that bit him was not supposed to even be in that universe, meaning our Miles was supposed to be something else before it happened.

This isn't true for ITSV, but in every other version of Spider-Man, the main color scheme for the Prowler is green and purple.

Our Miles was supposed to become the next Prowler in his world. And the only reason he's not, is because of the original Prowler. Miles switched his fate with Earth-42 Miles.

“we could’ve been us” is such a raw fucking line neil gaiman how dare you put this in my silly little fantasy rom-com

PSA for Across the Spiderverse:

Do NOT see the new Spiderverse movie if you have any form of epileptic condition or conditions affected by bright lights and rapidly changing colors.

I will not be spoiling the plot or anything happening in it, but it is important that people know, because ohhh my god the AMOUNT of flashing lights and rapidly changing colors from beginning to end was so rampant that even I, a non-epileptic autistic person, got a severe headache and wild overstimulation. They do not give a warning in theaters at all that this movie is NOT epileptic friendly from the literal beginning with the beginning credits - which is so, so sad!

This is a beautifully made film, it's wonderful, it's amazing, but unfortunately, it's not a good time for anyone super affected by bright flashing lights in rapid succession, especially those seizure prone.

I wanted to put this out there BECAUSE there are no theater warnings. Idk if anyone else has put it out there, but it is SUPER IMPORTANT!!!

I wish you all a lovely day and hope they eventually have a remaster that will be much more friendly to epileptic and other people affected by bright, flashing lights.

(EDIT: Changed all text to plain text for screen readers! Sorry about that, my bad!)

SECOND EDIT: please do not fight in the comments of my post please... if you guys wanna talk stuff out in DMs, that is a-okay and not my business but I directly get notifications for everyone's comments and replies- including people fighting in the comments.

I understand that some theaters have warnings in them. Mine did not, and many other peoples' did not. It seems to be a theater by theater basis, so please understand that is where I'm coming from. If you had a warning in your theater, that is wonderful! And I'm very grateful that ya'lls theaters had warnings! That is a great sign. But please under stand that mine and many others' theaters don't have warnings.

Please take any arguments off my post, it is not meant to be grounds for heated discussion, just a warning for people who are photosensitive or epileptic. Thank you.

My dear lgbt+ kids,

I can’t drive. I do not have a drivers license, I never even took any drivers ed.

For a while, as a teenager/new adult, this was very very embarrassing. It felt like everyone around me was swapping stories about their instructors and classes, they’d discuss how their driving tests went, they’d proudly announce they got their license… and I sat there quietly, couldn’t contribute anything to the conversation and when people asked me how my classes are going, I’d have to awkwardly explain that I don’t take any and then would be needled as to why.

You may expect this post to go the „But now I am older and more confident and that’s why I’m no longer ashamed“ route, but it won’t. Because quite frankly? I do not need to be confident about it anymore - because nobody cares anymore.

You see, back then drivers licenses were a big deal. People my age talked so much about them because my age at that time was the typical age to get one. But obviously the people my age got older alongside with me. And at my age now, people just don’t talk about drivers ed anymore. It doesn’t come up in conversations anymore. I may say that I don’t own a car and people will either go “okay” and the conversation moves on or they will go “cool” and we talk about how bad cars are for the environment. Nobody has asked me in ages if I have a drivers license, let alone demanded an explanation why I don’t have one.

Obviously all of this has nothing to do with being lgbt+ - but it’s an example for how life can change.

Anything that seems like a big deal now, anything that feels painful or embarrassing or isolating now, may simply not matter anymore in ten years. Your environment and circumstances will change.  The priorities of the social groups you are in will change. The groups themselves will change.

That doesn’t fix the Now or means the feelings of the Now are irrelevant. But it can be a comforting thought when you feel like it’ll never get better.

With all my love,
