UKRAINIAN CHARITIES I TRUST

Update: added united24 site

So, I fled war and I had this post with my PayPal info coz I didn't have income apart from (not very big) humanitarian help and struggled trying to find a job. Now it's just charities post. Even a few euros or dollars can help us win and stop occupiers! I personally donate any spare money I have because I want to go home and I want my home to be undamaged and my friends -- alive.

Definitely not a full list but like, there is no point of donating to every single one. They work together anyway. However, if your Ukrainian friend sent you a link to any local charity they trust, I will be grateful if you donate there as well.

Thank you.

Updated once again!

Oh man. An hour ago there was another air attack on Kyiv (which we defeated fully, thank the air defence). Turns out today arrived a delegation from Africa which wanted to offer a peace plan 💀💀💀

"uh-uh. actually bombing a peace delegation from africa is very anti-imperialist and anti-nato. i am very smart"

The funniest bit is that the South African President's office is now denying that the air attack ever happened, despite everybody in the city hearing the sirens and explosions and all media (Ukrainian and international) reporting on it, and the Reuters journalists having witnessed the delegations themselves running to a bomb shelter.

That time when russian roubles matter more than everything else. So much for the anti-imperialist solidarity.

RuZZian's like to throw word "russophobia" around a lot like the shit they do is not legitimately phobia-inducing. The whole country is now adopting terrorist policy against citizens of Ukraine (of all nationalities, including russian), threaten European countries with nukes every other day, commit genocide AND threaten to commit it (using language like "exterminate" when talking about Poland, the Baltic States, and Ukraine) use nerve agent to kill people in foreign countries, etc etc, but yeah, all those fears are totally baseless.

Russophobia is Russorealism

My favorite Tolkien illustrations by Cor Blok in no particular order:

Bilbo and Gollum. Bilbo is the moon for some reason which is cool i guess

Smeagol and Deagol. I love the seaweed in the background, great attention to detail

Frodo serving Robin Hood-realness at his and Bilbo’s birthday party. Literally iconic

Isildur taking the ring from Sauron. Its great but I would like to see more of Sauron than just his hand, because I think he has the potential to look really cool

Pippin jumping into the bath at Crickhollow… no comment

Bilbo gives the Mithril coat to Frodo. Great poses, very stiff and awkward. I like it.

The fellowship. This one is a classic.

Gandalf and the balrog. Amazing

Boromir trying to take the ring from Frodo. I love the way he reaches for his sword, it looks very natural

Merry and Pippin and Treebeard. I like his legs and the fact that it looks like he’s wearing shorts.

The invasion and attack on Ukraine since February of last year is one of the clearest examples of right and wrong, with Russia being increasingly and almost cartoonishly vile and doubling-down, and there’s still people who act like it’s this murky unclear equally bad situation.

I’m usually the “things are complicated and nuanced! let’s keep and get some perspective!” bitch but this is absolutely not one of those times where there’s a whole lot of nuance or uncertainty.

(It’s also one of the clearest imperialist v anti-imperialist conflicts in recent history and yet people act like it’s not or that the situation is flipped).

Update:

"i'm sorry if you got offended (because you're too daft to understand our "humour")" is not an apology

At first I didn't understand why they called us diaspora, and then it clicked... Because ukrainians can't speak English, obviously! We are all primitive tribespeople who live in mud huts and fight off russians with spears! Our brains are too small to comprehend such a complex and difficult (lmao) language as English!

Anyone: Hey (asks about a special interest of mine)? Me: Becomes an unskippable cutscene

ID: text messages, they read:

Oh good I get to explain this to you

You will regret this

What's funny is that on average, we do read more: 48.5% of americans haven't read any books within last year in comparison to 23% ukrainians. *

*that is taking into account the influence of winter blackouts and constant air attacks

Reminds me of when there was a video posted online of various celebrities (including Robert De Niro, Michael Keaton, Julia Roberts, Matt Damon, and the band Imagine Dragons) saying messages of support to Ukrainians, and there was a certain kind of comments underneath that video from mostly USAmericans, laughing and saying that surely nobody in Ukraine would know who any of these people are...

the Russians hit Avdiivka again this morning with two missiles, — Donetsk Regional Military Administration.

Two civilians were wounded, the House of Culture on Tsentralny Prospect and high-rise residential buildings in the 9th quarter were damaged.

Davyd and Ksenia Epelman were killed at night by a russian rocket in Kryvyi Rih.

Danylo Kornilov was only 21 years old. a russian missile killed him at an enterprise in Kryvyi Rih. He had a wife and a little son, who is one year and three months old.

These guys went on a night shift at a warehouse with bottled water and did not return home because of the russian terrorist attack in Kryvyi Rih

Viktor Tolstov, 23 years old

Anton Babich, 21 years old. Two of his friends died with him

17-year-old Andriy Rykhel and 20-year-old Vladyslav Kuznetsov.

That bottled water was being gathered at that warehouse to be sent to Kherson region, which is still suffering in the aftermath of the russians blowing up the Kakhovka dam. The lack of clean water is one of the big problems there.

This is what russia does. It aims to destroy the feeling of humanity itself. Russia must be defeated, fully, and shown that these actions will no longer be tolerated. They had been tolerated for way too long, in way too many places, causing way too much harm over the decades. Its methods never changed, its approaches were never updated, because they always got away with it.

This is the "great russian culture" in action.
